Media covering UGA Football was given the opportunity to tour the ongoing improvements to Georgia’s venerable Sanford Stadium. A photo gallery from the trip can be viewed HERE.

One change that has raised questions from fans is the closing of Sanford Bridge to pedestrian traffic. Tanner Stines reports that the bridge traffic changes will improve overall traffic flow.

“…the circulation on the west side of the stadium is basically tripled.”

“We will have concession portables down the bridge. As well as extra space for future considerations.”

The most extensive changes have occurred on the south side of the stadium. One of the major fan complaints about the Stadium experience in the recent past has been a lack of adequate restroom facilities and speedy concessions. We will not know for sure until 93k fans test everything next month, but the improvements currently in place should work well. There are massive changes to be explored. Stines described the women’s facilities as, “…to our knowledge, the largest women’s restroom anyone’s ever decided to build in one spot.”
