Trey Hill and Demetris Robinson Post-Practice Interviews

On how much preparation goes into snapping the ball correctly…

“It is just an everyday mentality. It’s an everyday thing. You just have to go out there—that is the main thing. You have to focus on the snap—it is the most important thing. That’s what you have to focus on each and every day.”

On his impression of what makes Jalen Carter hard to block…

“He is a great player, strong guy. He isn’t any different than any other lineman we got. He is just a great freshman that came in ready to play.”

On the improvement of the offensive line from the first to second game…

“That ‘stuff,’ those are the things we’ve been working on. We just had to let it loose. I guess it was a first game-instance type thing. That is something we shouldn’t have [done], but it’s in the past now. It is just something that comes from practice and relaying it over to the game. We have to practice hard each and every day.”

On the conversation between him, Ben Cleveland and Justin Shaffer going into the Auburn game…

“Basically, move the ball. The Auburn game [in the past], whoever rushed more yards that is who won the game. It has been like that for several years. We just took that mentality and ran with it.”

On his adaptation to Coach Todd Monken’s-style offense…

“It’s great. I am just doing what I am told. Just trying to execute and be a team-player, and do what I can for my team.”

On a promise he has made to himself and the team for this season…

“Winning a national championship—that is number one on my list. I know I am a senior, we have the extra year, but I really want to dial in. I want the team to dial in and win a natty for the state of Georgia. Individually, just with everything going on with the coronavirus, for us to first not [get to] play the season and now play the season—to just be healthy. To go out there and try to win every game. Just be the best teammate for the quarterback—for the new quarterbacks that came in and be an open target for them.”

On being a “trailblazer” to players transferring…

“I never looked at it that way. I did it because I wanted to be closer to my family. My family needed me. What’s better than to come back home? But, I never really thought about being a trailblazer, as you said. I am accepting of it. I am glad the student-athlete has an option to go where they want to go, and be where they need to be.”

On how he sums up his career so far…

“I see it as this is where God wanted me to be. I am put in positions that I am supposed to be in. I am listening to the coach and wherever they need me to be that is where I am going to be. I have never really looked at the outside of what people say. I always [look for advice] within the family of the University of Georgia.”
