Offensive lineman Tyler Catalina talks about facing Auburn’s Carl Lawson on Saturday and how he compares against some of the other d-linemen he and his fellow o-linemen have faced this season like Missouri’s Charles Harrison and Tennessee’s Derek Barnett. He also talks about the difference in the speed of the defensive linemen in the SEC versus the opponents he faced when he played at Rhode Island.

Plus, Catalina gives an update on how he is feeling after injuring his ankle during the Kentucky game, and he shares his experience at being in Athens and the University of Georgia this season. The good and the bad.

The graduate transfer is very thankful for his opportunity to play between the hedges at the University of Georgia and compete with some of the best players in the country, and how much he has enjoyed the experience and learned, especially when it comes to working with Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman.

It’s been a tremendous experience, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I’m extremely happy with my decision, extemely blessed to have this opportunity, and I just want to thank the coaches and continue to play the rest of the year as hard as I can for them.”

What has Sam Pittman meant to your developement? He recruited you here and probably told you during the recruiting process that he would get the most out of you; has he gotten the most out of you?

Absolutely. And I think it’s vice versa. I’m getting the most I can out of him. He’s a great offensive line coach. He knows what he is doing, and I thank him everyday for what he’s done.
