The Bulldogs were back at “work” Tuesday afternoon, and after practice, Tyler Clark took time to answer some questions and discuss how this 2019 Georgia team and defense are coming along. The savvy veteran also had some advice for the freshmen.
How tough has it been to deal with the heat?
“Ah naw. I ain’t worried about the heat. The heat is fine. I’m from the south,” Clark said with a smile.
What have you learned that you can pass down to the younger guys like Travon Walker coming in now that you are about to play in your final season at the University of Georgia?
“I just tell them every day, like, don’t give up. Don’t ever be down on yourself about your mistakes,” said Tyler Clark. “Don’t be down on yourself. Just keep going every day. Don’t look back.”
On the 2018 season…
“My junior season wasn’t as productive as what it should have been; so, this year, I’m going in with a different mindset,” said Clark. “Hopefully, I come out bigger and better this year.“
What is different about how you are approaching this season compared to last year?
“My attitude towards things. My mindset,” said Tyler Clark.
How do you feel coming into this season?
“I feel great. I’m healthy,” said Clark. “I feel like I’m healthier, stronger, and faster.
Clark enters his senior season having played in 41 games, starting 22 for Georgia. No. 52 has racked up 93 total tackles, 11.5 for a loss, 4 quarterback sacks, 3 passes knocked down, and a fumble recovery in his three seasons. He looks to help anchor a veteran Bulldog defensive line unit that is made up of six seniors and four juniors.
