For the second week in a row, an opposing player made a comment about Georgia’s ability to throw the ball. Georgia’s players say it doesn’t motivate them, and they don’t let it dictate how the team performs that week. However, the media asked Tyrique McGhee if comments like that hype him up. 
 

McGhee mentioned that comments like that personally hype him up, but as a whole, the team ignores it. He mentioned how head coach Kirby Smart does a good job telling them that the comments of others shouldn’t control how they play. McGhee said the team’s energy comes from how they practice throughout the week. If the team hits their goals on offense and defense, that energy transfers to Saturday.
 
 

As a person you hear the stuff, it’s going to hype you up a little bit. But you got to ignore it. Coach does a great job telling us we shouldn’t let what someone says be our energy for a game. We bring our own energy every game. Through the week, we have certain goals offensively and defensively so we try to motivate ourselves with certain things we need to get done.”

 
 
Smart seems to be able to focus his Bulldogs and have his team ignore the outside noise that comes with being undefeated. He pulls the energy that the team brings internally to be their motivation. McGhee and other players continue to mention these goals, and it seems this is what keeps the team from becoming complacent.
