Georgia dominated Tennessee 41-0 as the defense held the Volunteers to just 142 yards of total offense. One of the Bulldogs that made a statement throughout the game was cornerback Tyrique McGhee, who intercepted Quinten Dormady on Tennessee’s first offensive play of the ball game. He spoke with the media after victory and talked about how special this defense is.

McGhee discussed how Georgia’s success starts in practice, and that each player has come in and believes they can win. McGhee said that is the difference this season and everyone puts in the work to achieve that success.

Our defense, we have a special group of guys, and a special group of coaches that are leading us. I think where it starts is every day in practice,” McGhee said. “These guys come in and we believe. That is the difference this year, everybody believes and puts in the work and it shows on Saturday and that’s what special to me about the defense.”

McGhee caught one interception and also had four pass breakups during the game. His success on the field is a product of the sophomore buying into the “process” that head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia coaching staff have brought to Athens.
