University of Georgia juniors Robert Tyler and Stephen Wrenn are among the top-rated professional baseball prospects in college, according to the publication Baseball America.

 
Baseball America rated Tyler No. 10 while Wrenn came in at No. 28 on its College Top 100 Draft Prospects list for 2016.
 
A 6-4, 226-pound right-hander from Cordele, Ga., Tyler recently was tabbed a 2016 second team preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. He was limited to 23.2 innings in 2015 for the Bulldogs and then returned healthy in the summer to star for the USA Collegiate National Team, going 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA. Tyler was a 28th round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2013.
 
A 6-2, 185-pound outfielder from Marietta, Ga., Wrenn earned the Gordon Beckham Most Valuable Player Award last year for the Bulldogs. He started all 54 games in center field and led the team in bating average (.324), hits (72), home runs (8) and stolen bases (28) plus registered 151 putouts and three assists. Wrenn was a 28th round pick of the Atlanta Braves in 2013.
 
Tyler and Wrenn have a chance this upcoming season to take their place among the elite group of Bulldogs who were first round picks. The Bulldogs have had nine first round picks in school history including a pair in 2008 when shortstop Gordon Beckham went eighth overall to the Chicago White Sox and pitcher Josh Fields went 20th to Seattle. In 2011, outfielder Zach Cone was a supplemental first round pick, going 37th overall to Texas. The Bulldogs had seven draft picks last year, and the highest selection was pitcher Ryan Lawlor who went in the eighth round to Atlanta.
 
The Bulldogs will resume practice on Jan. 31. Georgia’s annual 1st Pitch Banquet will be Feb. 11 at the Classic Center and feature Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones.
 
The 2016 college baseball season opens on Feb. 19, and the Bulldogs will play host to Georgia Southern as part of a three-game series at Foley Field.
