UGA baseball fifth-year senior Logan Moody talks about his first start of the season, and other expectations he has for this year after Georgia’s 6-0 win over UMASS on Sunday to get the three-game weekend series sweep.
“I felt good. I knew we had good defense behind us. I trust Coach (Sean) Kenny and the staff with the pitch call and all that kind of stuff,” said Moody. “So, I felt really good, and I knew if I threw strikes and they (Minutemen) put it in play, the defense would take care of it.”
Moody faced 20 Minutemen batters, striking out four and only allowing three hits over five innings of work. Moody pitched a total of 87 pitches over those five innings and secured his first win on the season. It wasn’t the first time on the mound this season for Moody, though, as he pitched two innings of relief versus Santa Clara back on February 21st and an inning of relief versus Kennesaw State back on February 25th.
