UGA baseball head coach Scott Stricklin shares his thoughts on the Bulldogs’ 5-0 win over UMASS on Friday night at Foley Field in Athens, GA.
Although happy with the win, Coach Stricklin didn’t hesitate to point out that he thought the team wasn’t as good offensively as they could have been. He also thought the starter Emerson Hancock could have pitched a complete game if the Bulldogs had played better defensively.
“Offensively, we weren’t very good tonight,” said Stricklin. “Defensively, we weren’t very good tonight. Emerson Hancock and Ryan Webb and Michael Polk were really good. We’ve got to get better offensively, we’ve got to get better defensively, but our pitching saved us tonight.”
