Georgia Basketball has filled the final available spot on its roster with the addition of former Stoney Brook guard Anthony Garcia, according to The Athletic.

Garcia will join the team as a graduate transfer, and is the second that UGA head coach Tom Crean has signed in the offseason. Georgia landed the signature of George Mason graduate transfer Justin Kier last month after averaging 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and two assists per game during the 2019-20 season.

Garcia measures as a 6-foot-5, 218 pounds guard/small forward that was the Seawolves leading rebounder in 2019-20 with 6.7 per game. He averaged 30.1 minutes per game while was the team’s third-leading scorer at 13.4 points per game. He shot 32.1 percent from the three-point line as a fourth-year junior last season averaging 2.4 attempts per contest. He also averaged 1.4 steals per game.

During this offseason, the Bulldogs lost their top two leading scorers in Anthony Edwards and Rayshaun Hammonds to the NBA Draft. Seniors Tyree Crump, Jordan Harris and Donnell Gresham Jr. all have exhausted their eligibility and Rodney Howard and Amanze Ngumezi have entered the transfer portal. Hammonds was originally going to enter the NBA Draft while leaving open the possibility of returning to Athens, but he announced earlier this month that he would be staying in the draft and ultimately leaving the program.

The Bulldogs have signed four prospects in the 2020 recruiting and have one committed. A pair of those are signees are JUCO prospects in small forward Jonathan Ned and point guard Mikal Starks, both from Eastern Florida State College. Four-star prospect K.D. Johnson is the highlight of the class, and three-star power forward Josh Taylor finish out the signees. JUCO power forward Tyron McMillian is committed, but not signed yet.

Once McMillian and Garcia sign, Georgia will have all its scholarship spots filled for the upcoming season.
