UGA commit Deangelo Gibbs can play on both sides of the ball and it will be interesting to see if he finds a home at wide receiver or in the defensive backfield.
 
 

Gibbs has moved high schools in his senior year from Peachtree Ridge to Grayson and helped lead his new team to a state championship. Gibbs possesses outstanding athletic ability and was one of the most sought-after players in the country. His athleticism gives him the ability to play on both offense and defense and he should be given an opportunity to try out each side of the ball.
 
 
The Bulldogs were able to beat out other SEC programs like Alabama and Tennessee, which put up a huge fight for Gibbs commitment. This was a huge victory for Georgia as the recruiting period was drawing closer and closer to National Signing Day.
 
 
Gibbs could help the Bulldogs at either defensive back or wide receiver and I believe when it is all said and done, he will find himself on the defensive side of the ball. Having such a great athlete with receiver-like ball skills on the defensive side of the ball will be a huge weapon for Kirby Smart’s defense.
 
 
With many defensive starters returning for the Bulldogs next season, it is hard to gauge if Gibbs will be an early starter on defense. However, if he does not end up being a regular starter, I think he will crack the defensive rotation sooner rather than later. The STAR position on defense will be one to watch as I think it may come down to either Gibbs or fellow early enrollee Richard LeCounte III.
 
 
This Bulldogs’ defensive backfield has the potential to be one of the best in the country and should be a fun one to watch next season with players like LeCounte, Gibbs, and many more.
