UGA Commit Netori Johnson is an absolute mauler of an offensive lineman and he has the exact size and build, which Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman covets.
 
 

As a four-star recruit, Johnson is one of the best guards in the country and he is definitely a candidate in this 2017 class that could compete for playing time next season. The Bulldogs have three linemen graduating so there will be spots open for competition. Johnson will join the Bulldogs with already great size as he is 6’3″ and around 340 lbs. As a freshman, he will already be one of the Bulldogs bigger linemen and he will definitely be in the conversation for playing time.
 
 
At the time of his commitment, Johnson was the Bulldogs second offensive line commit and he was also the teammate of the other offensive line commit Justin Shaffer. Also, at this point, he was the Bulldogs second flip along with quarterback Jake Fromm, and like Fromm, Johnson was also an Alabama commit prior to flipping to the Bulldogs. Also like Fromm, Johnson has become a vocal recruiter for the Bulldogs.
 
 
Most recently, Johnson was at the U.S. Army All-America game and besides showing off his skills against other top recruits, he also did some big-time recruiting. The two players that Johnson went after the hardest were five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon and offensive guard/defensive tackle Tedarrell Slaton. Both players that Johnson pursued would play defensive tackle at Georgia if they chose the Bulldogs, but its yet to be seen if either will further their athletic careers in Athens or not.
 
 
Regardless of if these players join the class or not, Johnson has been a very effective recruiter, but he should be even more effective on the field. Johnson is one of the few players in this class that has day one starter potential and it will be interesting to see if the cracks the starting five on the offensive line next season.
