Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Greg Poole ZippyMorocco That was a good deal later than my family.
By that time they had spread throughout SC and into GA and AL.

Here is Stirrup Branch, circa 1850.

I had that problem as well back in HS, I sure wish I had that problem today! ##

Bansai buckeroo  No problem for me on desktop and it was normal on my phone this morning.

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg  Who knows, when I was that age, I had a really hard time putting weight on.  I’m naturally about 225, but my coaches wanted me at 240 for football season.  With all the sweating and running, I would struggle putting weight on.  The coaches would talk with the cafeteria workers to get them to put some extra food on our trays.  When it cooled off some, I’d get close to 240, and then it was hell trying to take off that extra weight when I joined the basketball team in mid-December as we always went deep into the football playoffs.  The metabolism of an active 15 to 18 year old boy is a true mystery of the universe.

MMCSDAWG ed603 DawgLink  I think he would bring a lot of excitement…who would rather beat Florida and S. Carolina than the ex rooster..at least the AD would be funny!

  6. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg Another big time Alabama LB.  We are gonna get one of these kids soon.  I know he is at IMG now, but he’s an Alabama kid.  and Good!

  7. DawgLink

He just publicly supported Fox too. He may be on the way out. Sure would hurt my feelings. Not

I could be, but didn’t join. I’m just SCV. My highest ranker is Captain J.P.C. Belvin, 11th GA Volunteers, Anderson’s Brigade, Field’s Division, 1st Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.

So you are Order of Stars and Bars. Each of my however many Great Ganddaddies were soldiers but no one higher than sergeant. Fascinating to research and see what they went though

Today being April 1, I just finished decorating the graves of 12 Confederate soldiers in the little cemetery next door. One is my cousin, 2nd. LT. William baker Hight, 10th Georgia cavalry.

dawgmum MMCSDAWG Me too!  We have a couple in the ’17 class and now it looks like we have a good one starting off the ’18 class.

AlphaDawg 1Dawg under God Might depend if he gains any weight.  270 is a truck load for a sophomore, but he should be able to add some muscle over the next 12 months.  Also, if he camps at Georgia and gets technique help from Pittman, that should help him too.

  13. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG Right!  I noticed that too, This kid will definitely grow another inch or two and probably be around 300# when he gets to Athens!  I like

Kid aint skeered of Butchy pooh.  His family has some big boys in it, Butch might want to be careful how he treads around this Dawgs family!

  15. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG Loved that quote. It won’t stop ole buchy from coming to visit unfortunately.

  16. ZippyMorocco

Greg Poole Mine? They landed in Charleston, then spread out in the countryside. Stirrup branch Plantation in what is now Rembert, SC (the family name).

Good morning fam. I am digging the fact we can already pull an elite lineman with the new staff.
