My name is Jeremy. Been called Jerms my entire life. Even still today. It all works out

  2. Brooklyndawg

The smart coaches everywhere will negative recruit, using this as a hashtag….thanks Butch….lol

  3. DawgJerms

I went to school w/ AJ and his wife at Johnson. AJ was a great fullback & middle linebacker. I remember him being one of the first that I’ve seen that the bar would bend when he bench pressed. He was a senior my freshman year. He was a beast in football. His younger and older brothers were too.

Coaches to recruits “Go to Tennessee if you don’t want to play in the NFL”….SMH, LOL

  5. Brooklyndawg

He’s way past an LOI. He’s a whatever he chooses only once he officially enrolls, and not before.

  6. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bansai buckeroo  I’d rather cut your grass too Bansai than watch rasslin’

  7. Hobnailboot aka RobG

Bulldawg36  he won’t be an anything until he enrolls wherever he decides, that is assuming this is only a verbal commitment thing and he is not signing a LOI

  8. Brooklyndawg

I think you’re spot on with this one. This is appropo of why my alma mater, U of Md, left the ACC for the Big 10, not enough exposure. PS they finally beat Johns Hopkins in men’s lacrosse!

I wonder if he may blossom in NFL and blow up like others before him? I know he is very young and may develop so I hope those guys making business decisions in NFL recognize something there. When I say others before him look at Justin Houstin and Geno Atkins. Who called that they would be superstars when they were drafted? All that being said I was happy for him to go so high but surprised

Brooklyndawg I don’t see the ACC Net happening. ESPN is not going to risk another Longhorn Network disaster. ACC football is a not a draw throughout the footprint and  college basketball does not produce big number during the regular season.

    Of course, I’m often wrong.

1mandawgpack Good thoughtful post. As a parent of college and HS kids though, my first thought when it comes to Drob’s decision making process is that it wasn’t very well planned out. If Stanford was his dream school, then someone should have been advising him to cut back on some of his extracurricular sports related stuff and focus more on academics. Maybe cut out basketball and just play football and run track. Maybe cut back on the camp circuit some. If academics was a priority, why did he originally commit to Bama? That had to be more of a football decision than an academic decision. If being close to his Mom was important, why the interest in the California schools? His recruitment seems to have been all over the place. Although if he picks Georgia he ends up hitting the trifecta…close to Mom…respected academics…high level football program with a potentially elite QB. So he would end up where he probably should be all things considered.

My only point is that I would not recommend this approach to the typical college athlete. IMO it’s better for the kids to get the decision out of the way a little earlier. My daughter’s a Junior in HS and already has her SAT and ACT test done with scores that will allow her to go pretty much anywhere. She’s been taking multiple AP classes since she was a freshman in HS, along with taking the accompanying AP tests. I actually have a lot of respect for the football players that early enroll. Those kids have to have a plan to pull that off.

Brooklyndawg  There are no links – it is a response on Twitter to the post of this page. I assume he is referring to the Hubbard video above.

  13. Bansai buckeroo

I have its on good inside information that he will pick us……or someone else…… 🙂

You gonna rent the WWE event today? Ole AJ Styles from Gainesville GA will be wrestling for the belt today!

  15. Reddawg13

Rickpope2330 all I have is a good friend at the gym is close to a UGA I won’t name, and that Coach told him D Rob is our’s! But, we all know how that works, lol.

  16. Bulldawg36

They should of drafted him tho! I believe Mayes was worthy of a 6th or 7th round pick

  17. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Hating to type this, but yes I think so, unless he is going to be nothing but a situation player.

Score Check 1mandawgpack  I’m not trying to “church” anyone up, but am a bit weary of seeing grown men berate this young man (not inferring you, just in general based upon reading multiple posts about it) for trying to use sound judgment in making a very hard decision that will directly impact the rest of his life.

  19. PTCDawg

Greg Poole well, its yet another example of someone exploiting his statistics without any consideration for his stats being skewed by the role he was asked to play. It may or may not be a reach but I believe using his stats to make his case is rather silly.

They are saying Sgt. Carter’s first class aren’t seniors. It’s Dooley’s fault.

Bulldawg Bob2  so 14 Bulldogs are going to get a shot in the league….that’s awesome

  24. Bansai buckeroo

Even Tech had a couple of people drafted….the Volnuts should be ashamed….

I know a lot of people will be happy that the DRob saga ends today (hopefully).  Personally, I applaud this young man as he approached recruiting the correct way – consider academics first and football second.  I personally believe that many recruits choose schools simply for football with little regard for academics because they see college as a temporary stop on the way to the league.  However, as the past several days have proven, only a select few actually make it to the league, and some who are already there are cutting their playing days short over long-term health concerns.  DRob’s decision making process was never about directing attention his way – to the contrary, he has mostly laid low out of direct sight of the media.  So, while I would be ecstatic if he chooses our beloved Dawgs, I respect the young man for the maturity that he has displayed and the priorities on which he has focused during his recruiting process and wish him well regardless of his decision.
