AlphaDawg ???
What will the SEC look like in 5 years?
http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/116690/roundtable-what-will-the-sec-look-like-in-10-years
sheesh
MMCSDAWG The ‘balance thing is stupid and can’t be done. How do you know 5 years in advance how a team will perform. He can only mean balancing ‘names’ and that will not work.
Greg Poole MMCSDAWG Brooklyndawg Oh, I agree Greg, I NEVER want to see our Rivalry games go away. But, does this solution actually create a balance in strength of schedule like he is claiming or does it allow a lessor team like Texas A&M to have a “permanent” schedule that is no where near as difficult as say Florida’s or Alabama’s year in and year out. I kinda of liked the idea bantered about the other day about moving Auburn into the East and Missouri into the West, plus I would like to see the SEC go to a 9 game SEC schedule.

Who is he. Going to the Denisist in Anderson Monday for a cleaning and even that hurts. Lol
MMCSDAWG Brooklyndawg Permanent rivalries are not going away. In fact, SEC needs to restore a few (UF/AU for one).
The question is about the advantages of changing. Remember that the current system was established in order to qualify for a championship game and it is no longer necessary.
SEC is all about innovation – put some of those innovators to work.
I just posted on the subject
http://bulldawgillustrated.com/sec-should-abolish-divisions-heresy-or-good-business/
Brooklyndawg The only problem I would have is are we… CFB going to do this throughout the power 5 or just in the SEC. We have seen the round robin type play in the Big12 really hurt their chances of being selected for the NC playoff. I definitely agree that their is currently an imbalance, but does a 4 or 5 team permanent schedule really fix that? So 5 out of your 8 SEC games are going to be permanent with 3 being rotating thru the rest of the SEC teams. I don’t like the 5 permanent games. So who are Texas A&M and Missouri’s permanent games? I believe I want to have my team on those schedules… or Kentucky and Vanderbilt, we’ve been playing them longer so I want them on my permanent schedule as well. I like the top 2 teams in the SEC making the conference championship, but I don’t honestly believe this solution is much better than divisions right now with an 8 game schedule. If the SEC wants to move to 9 SEC games and eliminate permanent rivalries and play a truly rotational schedule where you never go more than a year without playing everyone in the SEC then I’m good. But without increasing the SEC schedule to 9 conference games or more, you will never get truly balances schedules.
Not my favorite thing either but we have a great dentist here in Athens.
Just sayin…you don’t like dogs?
Make the sec a ten league team again- guess we would lose too much money tho. Heck the sec might even expand
Dang, Jack, you nuts!….lol
Good luck bud. Hate the dentist
Errr….different subject. The article us about abolishing the SEC divisions, not SC the university. Another Deidescheim?
Why don’t you buy an English bulldog? You don’t think it would get along with the cats?
Next week, actually
I agree. Wish we would drop SC from the sec. They don’t belong on the same field with us. Hate SC!!
JMO, but I wouldn’t mind seeing this happen at all. Winning the SEC east has become an undervalue consulation prize.
When are u gonna have your next tooth capped!
Goodness!!! At my age I worry more about having another tooth capped or should I really open my pool for Memorial Day than will a 2018 football player sign with UGA. Just priorities.
Should SEC abolish divisions?

I know 2018 is far away but things aren’t trending in our favor with Zamir. Hopefully Kirby can work some magic!

Greg Poole Its actually in SC Monks Corner
MMCSDAWG The ‘head up’ thing is about the coach rather than the dummy, right. It would be the same if the thing did not have wheels, would it not?
What I’m saying is since every team uses dummies, why not use better dummies? I see it as a better mousetrap. How fast does a traditional dummy move?
Check out the opening drill in this vid and imagine the runner replace with a MVP. I think the point is that coaches have not developed drills for these things. They will not replace hitting but they may improve bag drills.

DawgDaddy Greg Poole I said the same thing over on the page its self… I’m still skeptical. It might work for an Ivy league school, but unless those things move a lot faster and quicker than what I saw and/or work on grass. They are a limited tool, useful yes, but limited in true value. DD, I counted 3 or 4 tackles/blocks where the players head was Not up as it should be… Head up will prevent broken neck or spine, head down, we all know what can happen. Your facemask should never be less than 45* angle to the object your hitting.
Greg Poole The Old Miss situation just gets better and better. I would say Hugh has allot of egg on his face.
RobDawg Definitely a good one!
