Brooklyndawg dsw61 RobDawg  D-Rob might be faster in pads on a football field in coverage or running routes. Different skill set than just running a straight a 100 meter dash or a 200 meter dash.

All three players, Hardman, McBride, and Robertson, are sub-11 second 100 meter runners, and all three are very explosive and accelerate very quickly in the first 10, 20, and 40 yards.

What makes McBride impressive though is running that fast at his size. At 6-2 and 220 lbs he is in Herschel Walker air; although Walker ran in the 10.23 range when it came to the 100 meter dash.

Suffice it to say, they are moving when their feet hit the ground.

Brooklyndawg Richmondawg Bulldawg36 you’re a NY guy, so you know even the nicest neighborhoods in the city have all  sorts of random businesses. The Fan district is actually one of Richmond’s best. I love the old cobblestone alleys around here.In Richmond, you are either alley people or sidewalk people, I’m alley people.

Brooklyndawg dsw61 RobDawg Drob is really fast also. He and Mecole are within a couple of hundredths.

  4. Brooklyndawg

No more Chuba, commits to Okky State. Of course, he referred to committing to the University of Oklahoma State, so maybe it’s not a bonafide commitment##

I would never have a wild animal as a pet. It’s just too risky. They turn on you when you least expect it. It’s a huge gamble to own a wild animal

Richmondawg Brooklyndawg Bulldawg36 You need to move on up, to a better neighborhood!!!!

  7. Brooklyndawg

dsw61 RobDawg Why did I think DRob was a speeding bullet, always able to get behind any receiver? Just hype?

  8. Brooklyndawg

As Larry David says it so well: it happens. Sometimes you get blown (out). Or you get blown out, twice. Or sometimes you do the blowing. Afterall, it’s America!!!! It’s democratic!!!

RobDawg That’s my understanding. Supposedly a laser timed sub 10.70; I believe. Kid is a freak…in a good way. Kirby can’t miss on McBride. That kid is going to be way to much fun to watch.

I forgot to ask this the other day so will now since I was just discussing Mcbride with someone. Did I read that he has legit timed 100 yd dash times that are faster than Mecole and DRob?

Bulldawg36 Yep. When I was coaching we would always have some blow out games like UGA did today. I viewed them as trap games that made players, parents, and often times coaches; believe that the players are coming around. I always enjoyed those games, but never used them to gauge how well a player was progressing. I stick to video analysis. No player is ever going to succeed long term if they don’t use their bodies correctly….the way the best MLBs do…especially the old timer hall-of-famers who tended to use their bodies better…prior to the internet where there is so much junk science being passed around. Prior to the invention of the aluminum bat. Prior to PEDs.

Brooklyndawg Richmondawg Bulldawg36 Those possums would take your hand off if you touched their supper. I’m sure they love the sushi joint dumpster though. That thing is positively rancid, and its right next to my beer run cut, unfortunately…

Silly, racoon’s are too smart to bite the hands that feed it. Now, you’re lucky that those Bulgarian frogs didn’t tear you apart. I read somewhere where, during the cold war, the Soviets trained a frog death squad to go after suspected CIA agents. Allegedly, got a couple too.

Brooklyndawg dsw61 Don’t think there is much of an opportunity for someone who never player beyond HS baseball to coach in college. I had opportunities to play in college, but at 5’6″ I was smart enough to realize I wasn’t going to make a living playing baseball. I basically dropped it cold turkey after HS and never looked back. It wasn’t until I had kids and got involved in coaching that I discovered I had a gift to teach. Not so much coach…but teach. Would love to work with a couple of .220 – .270 college hitters to show how much their production would go up if they used their bodies better. A 6’4″ player who weighs 238 lbs and has 99 at bats, should be able to hit more than one HR with some of these short college fences. The Ole Miss field for example is 330 down the lines and 365 in the power alleys. That’s routine fly ball distance.

Read a great article yesterday about some NFL linemen who are paying personal trainers to help them with their technique because according to them their coaches in the NFL don’t teach them technique. It’s basically sink or swim. They get taught the offensive game plan and their assignments, and that’s pretty much it.

We put a whipping on ole miss!!! Sometimes we have games where we blow good teams out!!!!!

U Md women’s lacrosse is Big 10 champs today…..undefeated on the year.

Richmondawg Bulldawg36 If it’s late at night, and the restaurants are closed, and you have no food in the house, do you ago out to the dumpsters and negotiate with the vermin for that tasty chicken leg? Asking for a friend….

Never ceases to amaze me when baseball coaches tell their players they need to “fight harder”. Baseball isn’t like football and other physical sports where superior physical effort translates to performing better. Assuming a player is not a complete goof-off and is serious about playing; the way you get better is by using your body correctly. You can put forth all the effort you want, but if you don’t use your body correctly it isn’t going to matter much. Baseball is very similar to golf, where using your body correctly makes all the difference. I see the photos on here today of yesterday’s baseball game; and I see both pitchers and hitters who clearly are not using their bodies correctly. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; quit blaming the player’s effort for losses. Just start teaching them to use their bodies correctly. There is a saying among baseball hitters…”Effortless Power”. It’s when a hitter syncs their body up correctly on a swing and hits the ball 400 plus feet, and they come back to the dugout after rounding the bases and tell their teammates that they didn’t feel like they swung all that hard. it really bugs me when baseball hitters; and even pitchers; get told they’re not trying hard enough…or are not coach-able (my personal favorite)…when the problem is they aren’t using their bodies correctly.

Reminds me when I’m at the batting cages on a Saturday or Sunday when the cages are packed. There’s always one or two dads yelling at their kid…the kid sometimes crying…because the kid isn’t hitting the ball good…because the kid is doing what the Dad is telling him to do…which is totally wrong. It’s all I can do to bite my tongue.
