RumRunnerDoogie  Our bull-in-the ring was one player in the center > numbers called and the players with those numbers hit the guy in the center

  2. RumRunnerDoogie

Greg Poole RumRunnerDoogie idk what it taught u other than how to get blindsided lol

  3. Greg Poole

RumRunnerDoogie Not sure, but it was brutal when I was in high school – calling two numbers at once is guaranteed to get you hit in the back

  4. RumRunnerDoogie

AlphaDawg Greg Poole i know bull in the ring was banned in the FL hs level years ago, i wonder if it is universally

SabanGreyshirtedHisMama Last I checked he was at an 88 and needed a 90 to get the GPA he needs to go to UGA

Greg Poole Jones wants these guys to compete on every down. He starts every practice with the “circle of life” drill. (We had a version of this called “Bull in the Ring” during our High School practices at Nashville Christian School back in the day). Two Players are called into the center to do battle in front of their teammates.
Jones may call for a 170 pound defensive back to go up against a 320 pound lineman. The point is to create toughness, and more importantly, to learn to compete. You do not want to be humiliated in that drill in front of everyone, so you give your all.

AlphaDawg Greg Poole PTCDawg Me Three and it took me til age 30 since I decided to leave college and go into the Navy after 2 years of college.

Congrats to this young lady and your family PTC!

Greg Poole I’m pretty sure I saw a video of his players last season doing the Oklahoma drill. Wouldn’t that be worse?

Greg Poole We will hopefully have the running game and plenty of guys who are capable in short, quick routes to ease him in a bit. He’s just got to protect the ball, priority number one. Will need Kublanow or someone along the OLine to help with protections like Boss Andrews used to.

Later this week I will be in Athens to witness the first person from my side of the family to EVER graduate from college. (that probably doesnt surprise anyone who has read many of my posts over the years! :>)
Congratulations to her and all the rest of the UGA class of 2016!! May all of your futures be bright!!

Bulldawg36 she (the vols) got run over by a damn old train!   Man, that song has a lot of great ones singing in it.

  12. MMCSDAWG

BahitsAgain Bulldawg36 He’s been committed for a while now…  He’s that player we keep waiting on to emerge from the ranks!  ###

  13. dawgmum

Bansai buckeroo He’s a great guy. If you want to adopt him, you’ll probably have to stand in line!

  14. Bansai buckeroo

If he keeps saying stuff like that, I’m going to have to adopt this kid…##…. 🙂

Greg Poole SabanGreyshirtedHisMama Besides Herrien, weren’t there one or two more guys we were looking to add? Can’t remember their names.

  16. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG  I expect to see some big players come in and organize the satellite camps based on the level of player being invited. I think this will begin to happen next year and the whole scene will have settled down by the following year.

  17. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole LOL!  Pretty accurate and I loved this one here…  Tennessee? The Kardashians!!!  lol

    ” Who wwwould I trust?
Tennessee? The Kardashians? The program without an NFL draft pick the last two years and a penchant for gagging?

  18. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole I agree, this unlimited camp thing is going to get ridiculous for now, this will all weed out in a couple of years, but for now it is going to be crazy!

  19. Greg Poole

SabanGreyshirtedHisMama NP with the question. Just giving the Cliff’s Notes version 🙂

  20. SabanGreyshirtedHisMama

Greg Poole SabanGreyshirtedHisMama Thanks for the reply. I guess I was 1) too lazy to start at the bottom of the thread and work my way up, 2) timely, since there was discussion about him.

  21. Greg Poole

SabanGreyshirtedHisMama  There is a video and some discussion below. on Brian Herrien. He is very close to being able to commit – a matter of days.

Question: There was a RB from the Douglasville/Carrolton area that was a possible add to the 2016 class if he made his grades. Does anyone know the situation there? I guess I kinda lost track.

  23. RafaRich

I think he is a better person than that. Being very competitive and the best at what you do does not mean you are bad to family or close friends. He has a special affinity for Kirby.

NCAA looking for better insurance coverage at lower cost for athletes:
“Critics of college sports’ current health insurance model complain that it’s inefficient, contains costly gaps in coverage for the NCAA and its members, and creates policies that don’t guarantee equal coverage for athletes across all conferences and schools. The NCAA requires that athletes have insurance paid for by the school, the athlete or his or her family. The insurance must cover up to the $90,000 deductible of the NCAA catastrophic injury program.”
