Bulldawg Bob2 AlphaDawg Easy to break those big runs when the defense knows it can’t tackle you…but it is encouraging. Gotta have at least a little mobility at the position!

  2. CLTDawg

Bulldawg36 I’m watching this year to see Mallex Smith progress now that he’s been called up, and that’s about it. Most of the excitement is in Gwinnett.

  3. CLTDawg

Greg Poole I want Sermon. I know Cam Akers is the priority target at RB, but I have serious doubts about our ability to pull him from Mississippi by the time NSD rolls around. I also like the Swift kid from up north…but in my opinion, Sermon is the top RB in the state, and to me, that means he should be UGA bound. That is one position that we can credibly say that we have a legacy at, and it is important to me that we get the top in state guys at that spot.

Geeze…looks like Kirby will have to solicit volunteers for depth on the D-Line against UNC! I still have eligibility coach! lol

MMCSDAWG Listened to it as well. Kirby has mentioned Ramsey a lot publicly. I haven’t heard him mention Lambert by name once.

Anyone else listed to kirby on the 680 this morning?   His perspective on the current QB situation was interesting.  I remember some on here last year talking about Ramsey and his legs…  From what kirby had to say it sounds like Ramsey may actually be a threat with his legs!  Dang I wish this kid would get his mental side right.   The other notable info I liked was CKS talking about Briscoe and Stanley…  Briscoe is going to be a player!  But, the comments about Stanley and his ability to stretch the field got me a little excited.   I look forward to seeing the competition once all of our recruits get here this summer.  Including Mr. Wimms, I think he will be a contributor this fall!

@36…when I was a kid, my older brother would make me run and shoot me in the legs with my BB gun………. Ahhhhh the good old days…..###…haha

haws1178 Sale looked like he might have the potential, but he had never coached at the level that Pittman has been at for a number of years.  I trusted Pruitt who from what I’ve heard/read is the one that pretty much picked Sale…  Sale may indeed make it back to the SEC but he needs to get a little more experience first…  We should have been a little more skeptical of Sale, from my research I didn’t see any Pro-style offensive line experience in his background.

  9. haws1178

I done the same and I’m very excited about the hire and possibilities. I was also happy with the hire of Sale but I think the scheme didn’t do him any favors.

haws1178 Pretty sure the highest ranked OL he had at Arky was 1 single 4* and yet he continued to produce NFL level lineman.  Looking at 2 I believe this year and 2 All-SEC still there.  When Pittman came to us, I looked up his history of OL and trust me, he has done a LOT with 0-3 star lineman during his time at UNC, UT and Arky.

  11. haws1178

My $.02. I know rules are rules but the bb gun thing is just stupid. Destruction of property yes they need to be held accountable. But come on man really felony charges for a bb gun.

  12. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole Like you said OL make up 5 out of 11 starters on offense, yet how many are ever ranked as true 5* by the recruiting guru’s…  You could take that 1 step further to the NFL.  So almost half of the players on an offensive team are OL yet how many are drafted in the top 10 of the draft each year.  Unless you are the one in a thousand talent, your not going to be ranked high by the guru’s or drafted high into the NFL.

  13. haws1178

Good points. We will just have to put our trust in Pittman. We’ve seen what he can do at arky and I don’t recall them recruiting any world better Oline classes. So something has to be said about his ability to develop players

  14. Bulldawg36

Kirby is stocking up on the OL! Gonna have to stock on the DL next year it looks like. Too many DL are getting in trouble.. Some are in thin ice

  15. Bulldawg36

Bad or good. I don’t really care for em. I just know they ain’t the team they were in the 90’s

  16. Bansai buckeroo

@Bahits…. I’m sure these are all fine young men but I think Kirby is just shoring up some needs on the team without using a scholly….if they work out…..great…a win win

  17. RumRunnerDoogie

Rickpope2330 just look for the tall ginger and the tall bald old guy and chances are thats greg and bob 😉

  18. haws1178

If Pittman can take a walk on to the pros I believe our Oline recruitment worries will be over

  19. Greg Poole

Keep a couple of things in mind with these offensive line walk on’s:

    1. Unless they played for a good team or attended numerous camps, it is not unusual for offensive lineman to be under-scouted. That is especially true if it looks like they’re going to attend an Ivy League school.
    2. Evaluations of offensive lineman are very difficult and very few writers want to go out onto a limb touting a guy who may turn out to be a great big average player. Thus, very few offensive lineman rise above 3 stars, especially given the fact that OLs comprise almost 50% of the offense.

  20. ed603

AlphaDawg  Looks like CKS invite for police officers to attend practice didn’t yield any goodwill. If a bb gun causes a felony, I would be serving 10-life in the pen right now.

  21. Greg Poole

haws1178  Patrick Garbin and I talked about this on a recent podcast. He said that never in Georgia’s history ha has the university had this many walk on. And he is BI’s official historian

  22. haws1178

Have to work Saturday day morning unfortunately. I will be home in time to catch it on the tube though.

  23. BahitsDawg

Bansai buckeroo these guys look like quality young men.  They may have just not caught the PR wind.   I love a success story from the walk on ranks.

  24. Rickpope2330

Yeah they are but I’ve seen some good things from some of these young players we have. I’m ready for them to develop and compete

  25. Greg Poole

Rickpope2330  We will have a table at the Bookstore patio – no tailgate – but drop by.

  26. MMCSDAWG

haws1178 I hope so, eventually we will find that diamond in the ruff.  A PWO doesn’t hurt us at all as far as scholarships for next year and we need quality depth!
