    There was some Tanner yesterday about what Kirby said in Savannah regarding running backs. Here is Jason Butt’s recounting of the quote. It leaves little room for speculation as to what Kirby meant:
    “No, I don’t feel better at all,” Smart said prior to a donor function at the Desoto Hilton in Savannah. “I won’t feel better until Nick Chubb is 100 percent healthy and Sony (Michel’s) out there. We’re trying to do some things to help with the depth that we can’t talk about right now, but it just depends on how Chubb comes back, some eligibility concerns to get them qualify.”
    What Smart can’t talk about, per NCAA rules, is the fact that New Manchester running back Brian Herrien is likely to sign a financial-aid agreement with Georgia during a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Herrien, who ran for a GHSA AAAAA-best 1,970 yards in 10 games during the 2015 season, was able to accept his Georgia offer by qualify academically at the last minute.
