TeeHDawg  Bulldawg Bob2  They will rotate those front  7 guys in and out a good bit, except whom ever grabs the general in the middle spot at ILB that Jake Ganus was last year for Georgia and Herrera was the year before Ganus.

But eye. Lo Carter has the potential to be All-American, but if he doesn’t push himself, he is in danger of getting surpassed by Walker.

BroDawg Bulltoad RumRunnerDoogie I agree with what Saban said.  It is just not his position to say that.  If Spurrier wants to say it that is fne but Saban should not try to put extra pressure on Kirby.  Kirby stuck with him through the national championship and even worked with Pruitt during that time.  This is how you reward him.  Start making comments to National Media that UGA is the best Job in the SEC which basically means the entire country.

  3. TeeHDawg

Bulldawg Bob2 TeeHDawg Thanks. I’ve been looking at Gday and doing a little projecting into fall camp also. As far as other positions, we do need depth along the dline. Clark, Carter, and Rochester will play a good bit this year due to depth alone. I also feel our 5 most talented players on defense are Thompson, Roquan, Briscoe, L. Carter, and Natrez with Walker on the bubble. If Walker progresses during the season, L. Carter will be 2nd string if he isn’t careful.

So who is going to grab up tickets for the 2018 match-up against OOC opponent Murray State?

  5. MMCSDAWG

Bulldawg Bob2 MMCSDAWG These are the times we wish we still had the Yolo!  lol…  If we had Yolo, I would beat the bank that Eason is the Starter NLT Missouri and probably by the end of the UNC game!

The hypocritical thing for me is Saban’s reluctance to recognize the institutional differences between UGA and other universities, specifically Alabama.  There is only one focus in Tuscaloosa and that is to win football games.  The unequivocal control that Saban has been given at UA IMO makes Alabama the top job in all of college football.  Don’t get me wrong, Saban is an outstanding football coach and deserves credit for his accomplishments, but let’s not forget what happened when he didn’t have Carte blanche over everything when he was in Miami.  The unbridled control Saban has at UA IMO makes that job the best job in the SEC by FAR!

Bulltoad RumRunnerDoogie I think he was saying it because of the fruitful recruiting talent in this state and there not being any programs within the state to compete with. But I am sure some of it had to do with Jedi Mind Tricks….

  8. Bulltoad

RumRunnerDoogie Bulltoad yeah, but why would saban say that?  Kirby was as loyal a coach as he ever had.

  9. Bulldawg Bob2

MMCSDAWG Whomever the coaches feel like is the starter 🙂

If Ramsey gets the command in the huddle and leadership down, I think he will be given the shot to start and then Eason will get worked in through the season.

But Eason is definitely the most talented out of the 4 QBs competing.

Who is stepping up and leading team practices will be very telling as far as who is taking on that leadership role though.

  10. RumRunnerDoogie

Bulltoad if anything saban saying that puts way more pressure on smart to win and win fast

Is Saban beginning to worry about Kirby and UGA?  Why would he say that UGA is the best job in the conference?  Remember this is the same guy who was critical of us for firing a coach who won 10 games and now suddenly we are the best job in the SEC.  I would think that Saban would be proud of Kirby and would not want to put any extra pressure or expectations on him kinda of like Kirby is doing everything he can to protect Eason.   I personally think he is worried and he should be.   I am guessing the days of Kirby calling him for advice or his opinion may be over.

And if you haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast :). Our talk about the under dogs or surprises comes at about the 51:30 mark towards the end, but our discussion on FOIA is entertaining before that. 🙂

We probably have discussed this before, but it is a good topic for discussion; on Breaking the Huddle, at the end David and I discussed two under dogs who fans would be pleasantly surprised at this fall.

I gave one of defense and one on offense. My answer for the defensive underdog, well, I am not so sure he is an under dog, but I stated Dominick Sanders would become a defensive superstar in the secondary and an interception machine … which I thought he was already on his way to becoming last year.

On offense, I went with incoming freshman RB Elijah Holyfield. Even with Sony Michel and if Nick Chubb comes back, I just think he is the guy that will be that 3rd RB, and he might be the number 2 guy until Chubb is 100% and good to go. I like Crowder, but Holyfield just has something about him when he runs that makes me think he will be very successful at the collegiate level.

ZippyMorocco Hey Zippy. Good. Just sore. She ended up cracking a couple of lower floating ribs and straining some muscles when she was sick, didn’t realize it. Doc gave her some good drugs though; so, she is able to rest 🙂 Thanks for asking.

How is Mrs. Zippy fairing these days?

  16. ZippyMorocco

    MMCSDAWG
He will have had 10 months to recover. Given his work ethic, I thing he will be 100% on 9/3.

  17. BhamDawg5634

MMCSDAWG BhamDawg5634 I would love for Chubb to come out and be full go first game (looking through the red glasses that is all I think about) but I think we just need to temper the expectations and not rush him back.  We have other talent behind him that can pick up the slack until he is ready to be fully unleashed

  18. MMCSDAWG

BhamDawg5634 MMCSDAWG Great assessment on Chubb, I agree, I don’t expect him to get more than 8-10 carries regardless of his health.

  19. Bulldawg Bob2

MMCSDAWG  I think he is ahead of schedule and doing really well. Does that equate to a start or at the very least playing time versus North Carolina on September 3rd? I still think that is difficult to ascertain at this moment in time, but will it impact the decision on who starts at QB for Georgia?

    NO.

  20. BhamDawg5634

MMCSDAWG I don’t think we see a heavy dose of Chubb unitl game two.  I think if he is cleared to play against UNC they will get him some touches and see how he can hold up to blocking as well in Pass Pro and then evaluate him again after the game to make sure there is no swelling.  If he is in good shape after then you will see full go on Chubb in the next game.

I am rooting for Eason to be the starter no matter who the RB is in game one.  I think if he can grasp the system fully then you don’t waste a half of year before you put him in the starting line up.

  21. Bulldawg Bob2

Rivals’ Jake Reuse Tweeted out on Twitter yesterday that Markaviest ‘Big Cat’ Bryant has UGA in his top three. I’ve got family down the way in Crisp County and scuttle butt is, he really likes the Dawgs, but Auburn has shown him a lot of love.

  22. MMCSDAWG

So, What is the consensus on N. Chubb…  Do you believe he starts game #1 against UNC in the dome?   If Chubb is ready game one, does that impact Kirby’s decision on who’s the starting QB game 1?

  23. Bulldawg Bob2

TeeHDawg   I don’t disagree with that. Good list. Lo Carter and Walker might be 1a and 1b at this point, but if I were to make a list that is how I would pretty much put it down.

  24. Bulldawg Bob2

A belated good morning to my favorite Dawg fans! How is everyone on this wet and rainy Friday?
