Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG Me too…  Not sure it will make a huge difference in the short term, but it is definitely different and I give Kirby credit for trying to change the dynamic that the previous staff had with the local LEO’s.

So what are you guys thoughts on Kirby inviting in all the local law enforcement folks yesterday for LEO appreciation day at UGA practice?

Read an article a couple of years ago about how Chris Davis, after being traded to the Baltimore Orioles, was trying to revamp his swing. He mentioned in the article that he would pull up video of him hitting, but had no idea what to look for. I’ve run into this issue with HS and college baseball coaches. They don’t know how to properly analyze swing mechanics because they don’t have an in depth understanding of how the human body works to generate maximum force to hit a baseball hard. As an example, watch the back foot of the UGA hitter in the first video. When the back foot basically just hangs back and spins, that is a tell tale sign that there was no weight shift. In the second clip you’ll see a 17 year old hitter I’ve taught. Watch how the forward rotation of the hips pulls the back foot off the ground and forward. Also note how the back foot does not lift off the ground until the front heel plants…stopping all forward linear movement. Meaning the back foot is not being pulled up off the ground due to foward linear movement. The unwinding of the hips is what pulls the back foot off the ground…which is how Ted Williams defined weight shift.

Bulldawg36 What’s weird about that?  only weird thing is the jelly.  Peanut butter and bannana was a staple around my house growing up!

Greg Poole That is great new and our thoughts and prayers are going out to his wife and him!

I also was impressed with what I seen from him. I can’t wait to see how he perform on Gday.

I think Ramsey’s physical skills have never been in question….we are waiting for the other pieces that a good qb has to have to kick in……

Watched the clips of the QBs from yesterday’s practice, and I still really like how Ramsey throws a football:)

The feeling I got was Murray’s statements made it seem as if Chubb doesn’t require much more rehab. I’m still skeptical but then again I don’t see half of what y’all see

Morning fella, I’m eating weird this early. I’m having a peanut butter jelly bannana sandwich

haws1178  I did not think he changed. He may be changing to avoid answers the question in the same way every time he speaks to the press. He always gets asked about Chubb.
