UGA Gymnastics to Begin 31st NCAA Championships Appearance on Vault


[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia gymnastics team will compete in the first semifinal of the NCAA Championships April 17 at 2 p.m. ET at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The 10th-seeded Gymdogs will compete against No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Utah, No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 UCLA and No. 11 Stanford.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The second session is slated to begin at 8 p.m. and includes No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Alabama, No. 8 Auburn, No. 9 Nebraska and No. 12 Oregon State. The top three teams in each session will advance to the Super Six on Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m.

The two semifinals on Friday will be shown live on NCAA.com, while the Super Six and the Individual Event Finals can be seen live on ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN app.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Georgia’s rotation for the first session will be vault, bye, bars, beam, bye, floor. UGA had the same rotation in the semifinal a year ago when it came in second to qualify for the Super Six.

The Gymdogs (13-10) won the program’s 24th NCAA regional title at Cal Berkeley last Saturday night with a 197.025. Ten-time national champion Georgia is making its 31st appearance in the NCAA Championships.
[su_spacer size=”40″] The top four individuals from each session in each event (plus ties) from the preliminary team and all-around competition will compete in the individual-event competition Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m.
