UGA men’s basketball player Rayshaun Hammonds shares his thoughts about the Bulldogs’ upcoming road game versus the Memphis Tigers.

On how Georgia is preparing for its stretch of SEC games/how the team maintains focus on what is ahead…

“We’re staying together, practicing hard and having fun while we’re doing it. We’re getting ready to compete against the best teams in the country….We have to talk teach each other, listen to what the coaches are telling us and take their advice. We’ve got to stay together and play together, be together like always. That’s the main focus.”

On the advice he’s given the underclassmen about what they can expect in the coming games…

“[I tell them] it’s different [than high school]. Everybody is competitive. Everybody is physical. From one to 15, everyone on the team is good. [The underclassmen] are going to play against some great coaches. They’ve never seen anything like this, so they’ve just got to be ready for it.”

On whether he feels the team is “getting hot” at the right time in the season…

“Yes, I think the team is getting hot, and it’s the right place [in the season] to get hot, moving on. We’ve got to stay together this whole strip we’re about to go on. That’s the main focus.”
