Two games ago Georgia (16-9, 7-6 Southeastern Conference) looked to be in great position for an NCAA Tournament berth. The Bulldogs had just beaten Texas A&M on the road, but then they lost by a point to a bad Auburn team at home on Saturday. It was reasonable to think Georgia would come out playing better against South Carolina on Tuesday night. Instead, Georgia fell behind by as much as 21 in the first half and a late comeback attempt fell short. Head coach Mark Fox spoke about the 64-58 loss after the game.
