UGA Press Conference: Kirby Smart Introduced as New Head Coach

The University of Georgia introduced Kirby Smart as the new Head Football Coach of the Bulldogs at 12:30 PM ET today from the Georgia Center in Athens, GA.


The former Georgia defensive back, who played for Coach Ray Goff and Jim Donnan during his college career at UGA from 1995-1998 and was also on Mark Richt’s staff at UGA as a running backs coach in 2005, has returned home to his Alma Mater to take the reigns of the Bulldogs. Smart has spent the last 8 years as the defensive coordinator for the University of Alabama football program under Coach Nick Saban and a total of 9 years on the staff at Alabama.
