Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Bulldawg Bob2 I bet his parents are glad UGA is paying for his groceries now

I really want the Dawgs to beat Florida but I’d be elated with Georgia going 10-2 in Coach Smart’s first year

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain I know a couple of folks from down there, and culturally it is very distinct and different, which is why it’s a hard pull

BahitsAgain AlphaDawg Life is all Bricks and Tweets, until somebody punches you in the mouph!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my guess as to how we finish the season. Just remember I am no professional and these are merely my guesses. I also think I will be happy if the season finishes like this. Could be a trip to the Dome one last time. If I had to guess someone to win the eastern division other than UGA I would choose Florida. I don’t get the hype about Dobbs. I don’t think he has the it factor, and I wouldn’t put him in my top 5 SEC QBs this year. Coach mcelwain at Florida has done a really impressive job in my opinion and they scare me the most in the east. I do think they can be beaten more than twice in the SEC so I’m hoping we get a shot at Bama in the SEC Championship. I think Eason is the real deal after seeing him at GDay. He just has the position down, he definitely looked the part but he just looked so much more in control than the other QBs. I know he’s going to take some hots and have some growing pains but that’s what makes him such an impressive prospect to me. He is going to get better and he is already my number 2 QB in the SEC behind Kelly and has never played a college game. The good news is I think we will be competitive in every game and we have a chance to make the playoffs if we can get some lucky bounces. Go Dawgs!

Despite how the article words it the kids know what’s going at utk.

  7. RumRunnerDoogie

WillieWalden terrell has been the quietest recruitment it seems, hardly hear much about him

  8. WillieWalden

How we play this year is going to be huge .. If we can eliminate the bad losses and put our best forward .. Even in defeat I think this class can be one of the best ever for us.. Plenty of kids are interested..

  9. BahitsAgain

AlphaDawg Boooooch is such a creepy brick head I can see him sitting in his mother’s basement and tweeting all these kids.

  10. Hobnailboot aka RobG

BahitsAgain WillieWalden weight challenged…lol, that sounds worse IMO, I’d rather be called the Fat Man than the Weight Challenged Man

  11. RumRunnerDoogie

WillieWalden seems the only elite DB left that UGA is really in the running for is gibbs.

  12. WillieWalden

Would love to see us sweep in and snag a couple 4 and 5 stars out of nowhere.. Lindsey … Wilson… Najee … We have a great class already but we need a couple freaks to keep up with the elite squads

  13. MMCSDAWG

BahitsAgain I looked back at Arky’s line during Pittman’s tenure and most of his recruits were 3 stars with a few 4 stars mixed in.  So based on “Star” talent, he should be above avg, but he likes um big and right now most of our bigger boys are the most inexperienced, so he is probably hoping out S&C guys got these boys a lot stronger!

  14. converted 1981

BahitsAgain DawgByte Greg Poole Short yardage RB.  Plow the Field with orange……… and what ever other ugly color is across the los.

  15. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain But Jacoby is from Tenn.  Not from Lowsyana.   I understand the home town kids, but he is looking at everyone but the home team!

  16. RumRunnerDoogie

godawgs678 AlphaDawg im sure they already have interns running a good portion of the HCs in the SEC twitters

  17. godawgs678

AlphaDawg They will start hiring interns to go through and like all these kids tweets. Kinda ridiculous…

  18. dawgmum

AlphaDawg I think it’s funny that the article goes on to state how effective their recruiting is given that they’re currently 15th. They don’t mention that they have way more recruits than anyone ahead of them.

  19. BahitsAgain

AlphaDawg BahitsAgain lol, many people down there have another language that nobody in the rest of the country can understand.

  20. AlphaDawg

BahitsAgain Yes. I completely think that. It almost makes them question their outlook because it seems too obvious. Then they start thinking, well I don’t have to go to UGA just because everyone assumes I am going to. Jacoby is an odd one. I think it’s like the kid a couple years ago, Donte Jackson. He loved Pruitt, wanted to play for him, had UGA as his leader for a long time, but weeks before, he switched up. Kids who are from LA, love LSU. It’s no secret that whoever is the coach there doesn’t matter because of the loyalty the people have to that school. It’s like they’re in their own country.

  21. Bulldawg Bob2

Think it is the fact that most teenagers have trouble making decisions and tend to be wishy washy at times. Most, but not all.

  22. DawgDaddy

BahitsAgain Makes sense to me, I have seen some real head scratchers as far a decisions some of these kids have made.

  23. BahitsAgain

Do any of you get the impression – like with Jacoby – that some recruits do not like being pigeonholed or crystal balled into they are definitely going to a particular school?

I can see it.  When I was that age, I would sometimes do things against my best interest just because everyone thought I was going to do something else.  I think a lot of us have a little rebel in us.

  24. BahitsAgain

RumRunnerDoogie BahitsAgain Michael Pope ok, it is a cool and unusual name.  And, he does seem down to earth.
