Just posted this below – unconfirmed and unofficial word in the street is that John Atkoins hyperextended his knee at practice yesterday

  2. DawgByte

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg Wow, that’s bad news!! What’s the typical recover time on those?

  3. MMCSDAWG

DawgByte Bulldawg Bob2 The thing I question is the fact that our new place kicker Mr. Wasson, was NOT one of the 105 invited to early fall camp.  has me a little worried.  We need to focus on our kicking game.  It was scary in the spring game.  I will trust kirby and beamer to get it right!

  4. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg I’m ast B-M and just asked someone if John Atkins got hurt yesterday. The VERY unofficial word is that he hyper-extended his knee.

  5. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG AlphaDawg I didn’t see anything but all of those guys were suffering yesterday

  6. DawgByte

valdostadawg80 Astute observations. One example that back-ups your thinking is the rise of Oregon’s relevancy in the last 6-10 years, which in part is due to their wild uniform changes. It was a gimmick that got them noticed and an infusion of new talent.

  7. Bulldawg Bob2

DawgByte  Yes. Hairy “Hunker Down” Henderson. He is 6-10, 325 lbs, runs a 4.0 second forty, benches 999 lbs, and squats semis. ####

valdostadawg80  I know we poke fun at Dabo and Clemson, but the man knows what he is doing.

Clemson had a very good football program during the Danny Ford and Ken Hatfield eras of the program from the late 70s through the early 90s, and then the Tigers took a dive into mediocrity in after Hatfield with Tommy West. They got better under Tommy Bowden, but never could reach 10 wins or win a conference championship.

Dabo Swinney has done for Clemson present day what Mark Richt did for Georgia in the early 2000’s and has got them competing at a level they hadn’t seen in 20 to 25 years. It is good and bad because I think he will also be thorn in Mushamp’s and South Carolina’s side, but Clemson is definitely a threat to UGA when it comes to recruiting if they keep winning.

  9. Greg Poole

WillieWalden Iwas talking with Jake Reuse about him yesterday.  Big kid with real talent. First saw him 2 years ago, impressive.

Some people wonder how Dabo is recruiting at the level he’s recruiting at and while winning is a major component.. I don’t think it’s the only reason he’s pulling major recruits out of Georgia and everywhere else.. Clemson was trending upward before the playoff appearance last year…  I think Dabo’s biggest weapon is his willingness to adapt to the new culture… It may not be his personal thing but he seems to stay current with what today’s culture is fascinated with and he uses that to build an environment that seems more modern.. just from what I’ve seen his players seem to enjoy playing for him.. I think Kirby understands this … hence the reason that I think we will see a lot more of the black jerseys and possibly other uniform changes in the future… What Harbaugh and Michigan just done with  the Jordan brand is gonna be bigger than expected in recruiting in my opinion… it won’t affect all kids but if you gather enough talent in one place that talent will bring other talent.. I hope our fanbase gives Kirby the latitude to do whats necessary to recruit on a level playing ground and not get caught up with tradition.. the Bulldog tradition in my opinion is the way we play football not how we look doing it..

  11. Bulldawg Bob2

MMCSDAWG WillieWalden  Tyrone Truesdale is definitely a good football player and DT. He has offers from Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, Clemson and Louisville.

He attended Georgia’s camp on June 18th, but he has received an offer from him. He also played in the Rising Seniors Georgia Junior Bowl.

Don’t think grades are issue, but you never know. He is rated a 3-star prospect at DT and is ranked as the No.25 DT for 2017. Scout has him as a 4-star and the 17th overall DT in the class.

  12. Bulldawg Bob2

Refresh page. I finally fixed Justin Marshall’s highlight vid. Should be showing up and able to play on page now.

  13. MMCSDAWG

WillieWalden Your right…  there must be some type of issue, because the talent is there.  Hope the kid can get it straight!

  14. WillieWalden

Watch out for truesdale out of Laney.. Strong d tackle.. Must have grade issues because he’s d1 talented

  15. MMCSDAWG

GaSoldier Greg Poole Most definitely, I was shocked yesterday when we were discussing this to find out that the SEC rules supersede NCAA rules for graduate transfers.  If a STUDENT athlete busts his butt and graduates in 3 years of less, then he/she should be able to transfer (Grad transfer) to any school they wish without penalty.  It’s supposed to be about Academics right… reward academic achievement period!

  16. 66DAWGnNC

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole I really think the talent is there. Yes, we lack depth at some positions and maybe experience in a few, but we have some guys who were highly recruited and who can play. The energy and enthusiasm this staff puts in to recruiting and the practice regime has to excite these young pups. Kirby just seems like the kind of coach who can get more with less. Give him some talent and desire and then look out. He WILL have us in the hunt sooner rather than later I believe.

  17. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG dirtydawgs Yup! Clemson was getting top talent here and there when they were known for Clemsoning. Since they haven’t ‘Clemson’d’ a game in quite some time, that mentality has started to wear off.

  18. MMCSDAWG

66DAWGnNC Greg Poole to steal a line from our fellow @RedDawg   Why not us and Why not now!

  19. MMCSDAWG

dirtydawgs There’s one simple advantage he has and it’s something that I’ve said for a very long time…  Win, and they will come.  I know a lot of recruiting is about building relationships and other intangibles, but the FACT remains that you win and you open up a whole new world in CFB recruiting. Kirby is doing a great job recruiting and his entire staff has been nothing short of amazing on the recruiting trail, but until he wins, and I believe he will soon,  we are still going to be playing catch up when compared to the teams playing in the CFB playoff and/or winning NC’s.   I want TL, but I also believe we might have gotten a steal when we flipped Fromm.  Watching this kid, there is something about him that tells me he is going to be good.  Real good.

  20. dirtydawgs

I must give it up to Dabo. He’s doing a heck of a job recruiting especially Georgia. Now his system doesn’t look like a whole lot but th man can apparently run his mouth to be doing so well in Georgia. If he gets AJ, Jamyest and TL then you start worrying about him maybe even more than Saban

  21. 66DAWGnNC

Greg Poole Bulldawg Bob2 Wasn’t Bama one of those teams that would not report or even acknowledge an injury to the sideline reporter during TV games? I would think Kirby would be in line with Saban in that regard, at least early on in his career. So, the Chubb interview is huge in that regard.

  22. MMCSDAWG

GaSoldier MMCSDAWG DawgByte Greg Poole Another one I’ve heard is running with the 2’s is of course Mecole, but also Tyrique McGhee

  23. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg MMCSDAWG Seems to have been a defensive “starter” that might have been hurt at practice yesterday…  No official word has been released, but speculation is its a big man in the middle. Maybe Greg/Michael will be able to see who;s missing or not from practice this afternoon!

  24. GaSoldier

MMCSDAWG GaSoldier DawgByte Greg Poole  I was thinking about him too, just haven’t heard any news on him. I remember Pruitt really liking him

  25. MMCSDAWG

GaSoldier MMCSDAWG DawgByte Greg Poole Don’t forget about the others as well, from what I’ve heard thru the grapevine there is another backer that’s pretty good in man coverage.  Deandre Baker.  I’ve heard he is pretty good in man coverage.

  26. GaSoldier

Greg Poole  Seems to me if he graduates he should be able to go where he wants. Which is different from the Smart situation a few months back. Just let the kid transfer, he has a roster full of 5 stars lol

  27. AlphaDawg

MMCSDAWG have you heard of any injured players? Don’t have to name a name, just curious.

  28. Bulldawg Bob2

Hey DawgDaddy. She is doing well but tired today. She was at the doc’s yesterday morning and that always wears her out.
