Today on Bulldawg Illustrated’s UGA Recruiting Daily we look at several 2018 wide receiver prospects.
As of the moment, Kearis Jackson is Georgia’s only wide receiver commit for the 2018 recruiting class. He signed with the Bulldogs during the early signing period on Dec. 20 and has already enrolled early at UGA. Look for the Georgia coaching staff to add at least one more receiver in this class and the five potential prospects where that wideout is likely to come from are Tommy Bush, Ja’Marr Chase, Jacob Copeland, Marquez Ezzard, and Jalen Hall… all featured below.

If position ranking is noted, unless otherwise stated, it is 247 Sports latest composite ranking of the player.
TOMMY BUSH
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: No. 37 WR
HT, WT: 6 foot 4.5, and 187 lbs
SCHOOL: Clemens High School
CITY, STATE: Schertz, TX
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 02/12/2017.
# OFFERS: 46
NEWS & NOTES: Tommy Bush has over 46 offers so far including one from Georgia. He was supposed to visit UGA back on Dec. 8; however, the winter weather system that dumped snow over North Georgia and the Atlanta-metro area put a kink in his travel plans. He did finally make it to Athens the following weekend on Dec. 15, and the Bulldogs’ staff hit the road and visited Bush the week before Christmas
So will Bush be Georgia’s second receiver in the 2018 class? Hard to say at this point, but UGA is definitely in the conversation here. Bush has also taken official visits to Nebraska, on Oct. 6, and Michigan State, on Nov. 4, this fall. Those two schools along with Baylor and Texas are definitely all in the mix.

JA’MARR CHASE
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: No. 15 WR
HT, WT: 6 foot 1, and 193 lbs
SCHOOL: Archbishop Rummel High School
CITY, STATE: Metairie, LA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on April 5th.
# OFFERS: 32
NEWS & NOTES: Ja’Marr Chase originally committed to Kansas on Feb. 4, but he de-committed from the Jayhawks less than two weeks later on Feb. 12. The Bulldogs offered Chase back in the spring in April. The wideout from Metairie then chose to commit to Florida over LSU and TCU; however, he has since de-committed again, on Nov. 8th, and reopened up his recruitment.
So does Georgia have a shot at Chase? I think LSU, Michigan, and TCU are the teams to beat here. He has taking official visits to Michigan and TCU, and Chase also plans to visit LSU on Jan. 12 and Auburn on Jan. 19.

JACOB COPELAND
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: No. 9 WR
HT, WT: 6 foot 0, and 192 lbs
SCHOOL: Escambia High School
CITY, STATE: Pensacola, FL
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/10/2016
# OFFERS: 33
NEWS & NOTES: Jacob Copeland was offered by Georgia over a year ago back in April of 2016. The talented wide receiver out of Pensacola, FL ended up committing to Florida on Aug. 2, but he recently de-committed from the Gators on Nov. 25, reopening up his recruitment. So… the question as with several other of the recent prospects at wideout who have de-committed from other programs, do the Bulldogs have a shot here?
I think Alabama is the school to beat here. Outside of Florida, it is the school he has visited the most, and before he committed and de-committed from the Gators, it was pretty much down to the Tide and Florida. Even though he de-committed from the Gators, they are still not out of it. He has already taking an official visit to Tennessee and is scheduled to visit Texas A&M on Jan. 20, Alabama on Jan. 26, and then Florida on Feb. 2.

MARQUEZ EZZARD
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: No. 16 Athlete – DB, WR
HT, WT: 6 foot 1.5, and 213 lbs
SCHOOL: Stockbridge High School
CITY, STATE: Stockbridge, GA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 01/05/2017
# OFFERS: 28
NEWS & NOTES: The Bulldogs offered Ezzard back in January, and he put UGA in his top-8 on 04/27/2017. Georgia was thought to be a favorite early on, but he ended up committing to FSU on July 21. Now, several months later, Ezzard has reopened up his recruitment, de-committing from the Seminoles on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Is Ezzard back in play for Georgia? It’s possible. The problem for Ezzard is that Georgia’s 2018 class is getting full and very quickly. The Bulldogs have 20 signees with three other players currently committed who have yet to sign; although, some of those three committed prospects may end up signing elsewhere. I also don’t think the Georgia staff would take more than one more receiver in the 2018 class in addition to Kearis Jackson and Tommy Bush looks like he could be coming to Athens; although Ezzard could also potentially play on defense in the secondary as a DB.
Ezzard is scheduled to take official visits to Miami on Jan. 19 and Ole Miss on Jan. 26. He’s already taking one official to Oregon back on Nov. 17th.

JALEN HALL
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: No. 13 WR
HT, WT: 6 foot 4 and 192 lbs
SCHOOL: Long Beach Poly High School
CITY, STATE: Long Beach, CA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes
# OFFERS: 41
NEWS & NOTES: Jalen Halls holds over 41 scholarship offers, including one from UGA. He has already taking official visits to LSU, Nebraska, and Oregon and also plans to take an official to Georgia on Jan. 12. Considered a Southern Cal lean at one point, it now looks like Oregon and Nebraska have made a big push for the Long Beach, CA prospect with the Ducks being a slight favorite here but watch the visit to UGA on the 12, especially if Tommy Bush falls through. He has the size the Georgia staff is looking for in the second WR prospect they want to take in the 2018 class
