Save me from having to read than the thread – what did most people think about the practice?

  2. DawgLink

He come around the corner like lightning. The second time he was blocked well and still tipped the ball

A lot of media and fans were impressed with freshman tailback Elijah Holyfield today.

Just watched the French men’s gymnasts break his leg on vault at the Summer Olympics, and I have lost my appetite. That was bad. Really bad. Hope that guy will be OK.

DawgDaddy Picked not the best time to do it on a Saturday evening right at supper time.

Man. I hope the rain lets up enough for me to mow the grass before next week. There is a tropical system that is supposed to form in the Gulf of Mexico that could bring a good bit of wet weather to Georgia next week.

Observations from UGA’s open football practice via Mark Weiszer from the Athens Banner-Herald:

“Defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter was on the field practicing in a limited capacity at the start, the first time he’s been seen this preseason.

Ledbetter wasn’t in pads because he hasn’t gone through the NCAA-mandated acclimation period. He stood with a trainer and was wearing shorts while the rest of the team was in regular pants.”

I bet Barrett was drooling when he saw our RB’s.  Auburn might have a huge issue at that position.  Kerryon Johnson had shoulder surgery last spring and that makes three for him, including HS, if I recall correctly.  After that they have some guys who may be better suited for fullback.

RumRunnerDoogie DawgByte  It’s really hard to draw a conclusion on an open practice like today; although, the coaches probably would not prefer than the QBs throw INTs.

  10. freddawg

Barrett just came from an Auburn practice, got confused and compared Brice to White, Johnson, and Franklin.

DawgByte if ramsey was the best out of the three like sallee said then thats not good lol

Godwin is very fluid, and obviously more experienced.   I just think Hardman is more explosive and has a better chance of getting around the corner.  That is based on HS film, though.

  13. freddawg

Barrett thought Jeremy Johnson was all world last fall camp.  We should take his assessment with a grain of salt.

Bulldawg Bob2 This isn’t going to be settled for a while. Agree the QB debate will continue. I’m hard pressed to believe Jacob starts against UNC. Just don’t think it’s going to happen. But my prediction record is awful, so don’t listen to me.

I hated our “wildcat” offense last year, but wouldn’t mind seeing what Mecole could with it.  I know Kirby says he’s just practicing defense, but at least put in one play just for kicks.

Bulldawg Bob2  D’Andre Walker is going to be a major problem for opposing QB’s also!
