TYSON CAMPBELL
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: DB – No. 3 CB
HT, WT: 6 foot 2.5, and 181 lbs
SCHOOL: American Heritage High School
CITY, STATE: Plantation, FL
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 10/31/2015.
# OFFERS: 22
NEWS & NOTES: Tyson Campbell is a phenomenal CB that the previous Bulldog coaching staff offered and the current staff has continued to recruit. He visited UGA over the summer on July 20th and also visited Clemson and Alabama to close out the month of July. His recruitment is wide open at the moment, but Georgia could have a shot here as the Dogs are in Campbell’s top five: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Miami and Ohio State.
It looked like Georgia may have been leading for Campbell for a little while, but now, it looks like the pendulum has swung back over to Miami. The Hurricanes have put everything into recruiting Campbell including the kitchen sink. Still, though, keep your eye on Campbell’s recruitment. The Hurricanes have five defensive backs currently committed including four CBs and a safety; so, will Miami take a sixth DB?
So when will Campbell announce? He is not planning on signing during the early signing period, nor, will he be an early enrollee. He is a prospect that could take his recruitment all the way until NSD 2018 on Feb. 7th. If he does that, will he still have a spot at UGA with numbers getting tight and likely to shrink even further with the early signing period? I would say yes because he is one of the top CBs in the 2018 class.

ISAAC TAYLOR-STUART
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: DB – No.4 CB
HT, WT: 6 foot 1.5, and 193 lbs
SCHOOL: Helix High School
CITY, STATE: La Mesa, CA
STATUS: Undeclared.
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 02/22/2017.
# OFFERS: 50
NEWS & NOTES: The Georgia coaching staff offered Isaac Taylor-Stuart back in February after National Signing Day, and the Helix High School prospect is one of the most sought-after CBs in the 2018 class with over 50 scholarship offers. A big reason why is his 6 foot 2 and 193 lbs frame as well as speed, having been clocked at 4.25 in the forty unofficially (he has ran a 4.43 in Nike The Opening) as well as his athleticism and ability to cover.
Isaac put UGA in his top 12 schools he released back on Sept. 25th, but Southern Cal is considered the leader by a number of recruiting gurus and analysts. The Trojans get one of Taylor-Stuart’s last official visits, too, on Jan. 12th. He also has an official planned at Georgia this weekend on Dec. 9th, and then will take an official visit to Alabama on Dec. 15th. To my knowledge, Isaac doesn’t plan on signing during the early signing period nor will he be an early enrollee.

DIVAAD WILSON
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: DB – No. 30 CB
HT, WT: 6 foot 0, and 183 lbs
SCHOOL: Miami-Northwestern High School
CITY, STATE: Miami, FL
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/12/2017.
# OFFERS: 30
NEWS & NOTES: Divaad Wilson was offered by UGA back on April 12th. At the time, he was already committed to the University of Florida, since Feb. 3rd. However, he de-committed from the Gators on Nov. 30th. So where does Wilson’s recruitment stand as of today?
Wilson transferred from Monsignor Pace High School to Miami-Northwestern for his senior season, the same school that UGA commit Raschad Wildgoose, Jr. attends. And he has scheduled an official visit to Georgia for this weekend on Dec. 8th. He’s already taken offical visits to South Carolina on Oct. 28th and to Alabama on Nov. 18th. Plus, he plans on taking an official to Louisville on Dec. 16th.

ANDREW BOOTH, JR.
CLASS: 2019
POSITION: DB – No. 17 CB
HT, WT: 6 foot 0.5, and 180 lbs
SCHOOL: Archer High School
CITY, STATE: Lawrenceville, GA

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on July 28th.
# OFFERS: 15
NEWS & NOTES: The Bulldogs offered Andrew Booth back over the summer on July 28th. Over the fall, the junior out of Archer High School visited the Tennessee Volunteers on Sept. 2nd. and most recently visited UGA on Nov. 4th for their 24-10 win over South Carolina. It’s still very early in Booth’s recruiting process but I would say he is a slight lean towards Clemson at the moment.

JOSEPH PERKINS
CLASS: 2020
POSITION: DB – Safety
HT, WT: 6 foot 0, and 186 lbs
SCHOOL: Madison-Ridgeland Academy
CITY, STATE: Madison, MS
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: N/A
# OFFERS: N/A
NEWS & NOTES: “Joe” Perkins is a talented sophomore defensive back who plays at strong safety for Madison-Ridgeland Academy out of Madison, MS and is a 2020 prospect to keep your eye on. He finished the year with 62 tackles, 6 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, and 3 tackles for loss. At 6 foot 0, and 186 lbs, with a 77.5-inch wingspan, he has a solid frame and is still growing. Perkins has also been timed a solid 4.6 in the forty.
What that translates to on the football field is a safety his not afraid to come downhill and stick his pads in there to make the hit and tackle. He does a good job of fighting off blocks to get to the ball carrier in traffic and then will wrap up to make the tackle, which I like to see in a young football player. You will also see him line up over the receiver when the opposing offense lines up in 3, 4 and 5 WR sets, and Perkins does a good job of covering when out on an island, especially playing the ball.
So is there interest in UGA. I spoke with Perkins on Twitter and he tells me visited for the Vanderbilt game last year and had a great time. “Joe” says he will playing for the Mississippi Grind 7-v-7 team this year; so, will probably in the Atlanta-metro area this summer and that he also plans on attending one of Kirby Smarts UGA football camps this summer.
