Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Bansai buckeroo I’m trying not to blow my top. This could have been avoided with good leadership at the top.

Bansai buckeroo I woke thinking it was a good morning too, then I read the news.

dsw61 All we need to do now is Kick it up a notch! We did do some underachieving under last regime, in recruiting, play and coaching. We were a solid program and now we hired a guy that I believe escalates us to the championship level! “It Damn Sho Can Be Us!”

Kirby has put together a pretty good staff. The only hire I question is Chaney. Any OC will probably be a step up from what we had last year

Please pray for the families of the 5 Dallas police officers who were murdered last night.

dsw61 Right, you turn around a  2-10 team, not a 10-3 team.  We know why Kirby is here and I believe he will accomplish that goal!

OF THE THREE FIRST-YEAR COACHES IN THE SEC EAST (KIRBY SMART, WILL MUSCHAMP, BARRY ODOM), WHO IS GOING TO STRUGGLE THE MOST IN 2016?
This is a close call, but right now I’m going with Odom as that program transitions from Gary Pinkel. The Tigers have a stud defensive line but are putting in a new offense under coordinator Josh Heupel.
Mizzou opens at West Virginia and also plays Georgia and LSU in its first five games.
South Carolina will be close behind after losing its best playmaker on offense (Pharoh Cooper, to the NFL) and best overall player on defense (linebacker Skai Moore, to a season-ending injury).

dsw61 DawgByte Yeah, I just saw that down below. Bummer. I was hoping we’d start the weekend with a bang.

“Georgia will get turned around really quick with http://247sports.com/Coach/Kirby-Smart-264 and they’re in need of receivers. Their 2017 class is looking awesome.” — Terik Black

I know what Terik is trying to say here, but it just sounds funny when people refer to a team that has a 10-3 record as one that needs to be “turned around”. The recruits need to just come out and say what everyone knows; which is that the AD and boosters believe Georgia under CMR was underachieving and that Kirby was hired to win championships. It’s good to know that the recruits are very aware that Kirby is putting together a great class. If Butch doesn’t elevate his recruiting, I think that helps Georgia with players like Gibbs.

DawgDaddy Greg Poole So who and what were they riding/driving that was filming him.

Greg Poole So Baylor is self inflicting penalties and attempting to “Clean House” while Puke Orange is buying their way out and suffering No Penalties.  Hmmm, seems about right for the ncaa!
