Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg Seriously, I still eat them occasionally but they were a childhood staple.

  2. DawgByte

Greg Poole DawgByte My counter was… if the Dawgs can roll-off 4.5-5.2 yards per carry in the running game that will take the pressure off and the coaches would likely put Eason in the first half. I also said that if going into the UNC game Eason shows excellent decision making in practice he’ll mostly likely start.

RumRunnerDoogie Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg My family never put mayo on fruit. My Pops will eat PB and Banana sandwich but not me

  4. DawgByte

RumRunnerDoogie DawgByte He’ll be back, but not at 100%. Chubb will also be back, but there’s no way he can be at 100% for the UNC game. Rust will be present.

  5. RumRunnerDoogie

1mandawgpack RumRunnerDoogie they have quite a few current college players out there. no idea why they go tho, maybe as extra coaches or something

  6. 1mandawgpack

RumRunnerDoogie  Nevermind – just scrolled down some more (should always learn to start from the bottom) and see that Gurley and Chubb are both there.  I wonder who pays their travel expenses (Chubb – Gurley obviously has plenty of $).

  7. RumRunnerDoogie

Hobnailboot aka RobG RobDawg if u are from Ga how have u never heard of this sandwich lol

    1mandawgpack Bulldawg36 Thorazine + Valium = !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. 1mandawgpack

RumRunnerDoogie  The one from The Opening?  If so, why would Chubb be there?

RumRunnerDoogie Greg Poole Lucas Rogers  With this class of DB, which only comes along every blue moon, and CKS’ desire to have long, lock-down corners who he can put on an island by themselves (so that he can free up LBs to do other things and not support the secondary which was what Pruitt did), we’ll definitely take 4 CBs and 2 safeties in this class if we can get those guys who we really want to commit.  We can adjust future classes with lower numbers, but outside of Mecole, I don’t think we have the kind of long, cover CBs on the team currently that CKS demands.  I would almost bet that with our 3 currently committed DBs (2 CBs and 1 safety), if Terrell, Williams, Gibbs and Stevens all wanted to commit (long-shot I know, but just a hypothetical), we’d take all 4 and figure out a way to make the numbers work as both Gibbs and Stevens could be labeled “ATH” instead of DB and we always have a slot for 1 or 2 of those types of guys each year.  These coaches are going to load up on OL (I’m guessing 5 as we’ll hopefully have 4 committed by the end of the day tomorrow), WR (5 minimum if Holloman and Webb both want to commit), LB (4 to 6 as we already have 2 committed and are in the thick of it for a bunch more who I don’t see the coaches turning away if they want to commit ) and DB (6) in this class and will round it out with a few other players (QB, 2 RBs, 1 or 2 DL).  That’s around 25 players give or take and I think we sign between 27 and 30 players this year depending on attrition, players turning pro, etc.  I just don’t see us turning away any of Terrell, Williams, Gibbs or Stevens if they want to commit to the good guys.

DawgByte I have an old athletic supporter with just about the same amount of insight.

  12. Hobnailboot aka RobG

RobDawg I’m not one to shy away from any food but that just sounds awful

  13. JaxDawg

Agreed, a little Chubb here, a little Sony there, and then some Holyfield up the middle!

  14. Greg Poole

DawgByte  He’s hop9ng that is the case and that is the conventional wisdom that most pundits are espousing.

  15. JaxDawg

Agree Chubb and Michel will be back. Gurley was back in time for the NFL when he tore his ACL against a late Auburn game

  16. DawgByte

Lucas Rogers RobDawg Taller and much thicker. Look at that bicep… has a build like a Middle Linebacker.

  17. JaxDawg

Yea I think you are right! He might be the best one we get. Doesn’t look like we get cam and I’m starting to think swift landing at UGA is more played up than we think so there is a chance we miss on him too. We may end up with just Carter this year and trying for 2 again next year

  18. DawgByte

Interesting discussion with a Florida athletic supporter last night. He said with the injury to Michel he expects Lambert to be the starting QB. He thinks Chaney and Smart will want someone steady to anchor the offense now that there’s question marks at both starting RB’s (Chubb & Michel). I can see the logic. He thinks Eason will play against UNC, but probably not until the 3rd Qtr.

  19. Lucas Rogers

1mandawgpack JaxDawg I really like Carter too. Definitely plays so hard competition. Yeah him on kickoff coverage reminds me of Sony

  20. 1mandawgpack

JaxDawg  I don’t know if you’ve seen his video highlights, but most star RBs don’t participate on kickoff coverage and punt block/return (not as the returner).  This kid is phenomenal and plays against some really big kids in Texas, so I’d be thrilled to get him.  If the other two RBs who we’re pursuing are better than this kid (based on rankings/ratings) and we get 2 of the 3 of them, we’ll be set at RB for this class for sure.  I’m a big TC fan and think he might be the best back we get assuming we get him and either Swift or Akers.

  21. JaxDawg

Yea he looked small in his highlights and here too, oh well I think he is an EE so he has time to put on some muscle

  22. Lucas Rogers

dsw61 Greg Poole I think he is leaning Georgia’s way, not because of the shirt though lol
