Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

    DawgByte Good Analysis Byte!   Can’t say I would disagree with any of those.  The kicking game definitely scared the hell out of me!

    What areas do expect us to improve in 2016 over 2015?

    Here are the areas I think we’ll either improve, be worse or push (stay the same):

    Offense:
    OL – Improve (this is primarily due to Sam Pittman. Without Pittman I would say Worse)
    Rushing – Improve (Chubb will be back and we have some solid new talent coming in)
    Passing – Improve (we can’t get much worse and I believe we have more talent, particularly at TE. I also think Eason will make a serious upgrade over Lambert)
    Total Offense – Improve
    Offensive Coaching – Improve (hard to get much worse than Schotty)

    Defense:
    DL – Worse (relying on too many young guys)
    OLB – Push (we have solid returning talent, but we lost two NFL bound LB’s. Lo will have to step up big time)
    ILB – Worse (I’ve always believed you need serious size at ILB and a QB/General to run the D. Losing Ganus really hurts this group)
    DBs – Improve (we have tons of experienced talent)
    Total Defense – Worse (too many question marks in the front 7 and too thin along the DL)
    Defensive Coaching – Push 

    Special Teams:
    Punting: Push (too much of an unknown)
    Punt Return: Improve (tons of talent to return punts and I think we’ll block more punts this year)
    Kick-Off: Push (your guess is as good as mine)
    Kick-returns: Improve (again tons of talent to return kick-offs)
    Field Goal Kicking: Worse (this is a very scary situation)
    ST Coaching: Improve (we have a dedicated coach now)
    Overall: Push (this could easily be Worse, but too many unknowns to really tell)

    Northeast of Atlanta, close to Athens!  lol.   It’s in Jackson co. About 22 miles from Athens.

    Bleudawg MMCSDAWG Bansai buckeroo No I was born and raised on the southside of Atlanta, but my grand parents are from that area and retired there after working in downtown Atl during their careers.  I graduated from Riverdale HS.

    Bansai buckeroo Mine too Buck, My grandfather used to take me all the time and when we didn’t go to games we would listen to Milo on WSB in the evenings up in Jefferson once he retired!  Dang what happened.

    You can tell it is the off-season – complaining about ‘analysts; ranking unis is definitely an off-season exercise.

    Yeah they ain’t bad. But the dawgs uniforms should rank higher- and they used to be ranked higher but now most of the analyst don’t even have us in their top ten and that’s bull crap!!!
