Today on Bulldawg Illustrated’s UGA Recruiting Daily we look at the Bulldog’s defensive front seven recruiting and focus on the rush ends, the weakside defensive ends.
Georgia has three WDEs committed for 2018 so far – Jaevon Becton, Azeez Ojulari, and Caleb Tannor. Both A. Ojulari and C. Tannor are hybrid DE/OLB while J. Becton has the potential to develop into an SDE. There are several highly rated 2018 prospects with Georgia offers that are undeclared, including KJ Henry out of Clemmons, NC and Micah Parson out of Harrisburg, PA, that the Bulldogs could add, and I would not be surprised to see them add at least one more DE/OLB in this recruiting class since this is Davin Bellamy’s and Lorenzo Carter’s last season. We will also take a look at a couple of 2019 prospects.
TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS
If position ranking is noted, it is 247 Sports latest composite ranking of the player.

NEWS & NOTES: Henry was offered by the Bulldogs back in April of 2016 and following a year of recruiting, he listed Georgia in his top-10 on April 5th. Henry camped and visited at UGA on June 4th and June 5th, and then participated in Nike the Opening Finals during the summer. He dropped his top five on July 31st, and the Bulldogs made the cut along with Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and VT. Many think Clemson is the team to beat here, but Henry’s recruiting is wide open IMO.
Georgia is very much “in it” as far as this recruiting battle goes. He took an official visit on Sept. 23rd to UGA for the Mississippi State game and had a great visit. Henry also took an official visit to VT on Oct. 21st, to Clemson on Oct. 28th, and he will visit South Carolina this weekend on Nov. 11th. That will leave him with one more official visit if he should choose to take it. Henry has scheduled his commitment announcement for Dec. 20th at 4:00 p.m. ET.

NEWS & NOTES: Parsons de-committed from Penn State on April 23rd and a little over a month later put UGA in his top 7 he released on May 26th. As things stand right now, it appears he is leaning towards Ohio State and PSU. Parsons visited Bama on July 16th and Ohio State on July 21st and he took an official visit to the Buckeyes game against Oklahoma on Sept. 9th. Parsons was at Penn State on Sept. 16 for an unofficial visit, and he also took an official to visit Nebraska on Oct. 7th for the Cornhuskers home game against Wisconsin. Parsons took his third official to Oklahoma on Oct. 28th. Would like to see Georgia get one of his last two official visits if they are to have a chance, but right now, it looks like Penn State is the favorite here.

LOGAN CASH
CLASS: 2019
POSITION: DE
HT, WT: 6 foot 3.5, and 256 lbs
SCHOOL: Winder-Barrow High School
CITY, STATE: Winder, GA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: N/A
# OFFERS: N/A
NEWS & NOTES: Meet 8-AAAAAA First-team All-Region defensive end Logan Cash out of Winder-Barrow High School. If UGA is looking for a pass rusher in the 2019 class, Cash could be the guy. He has been an absolute monster this season for Winder-Barrow Bulldogs with 91 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and a safety. His 19.5 sacks lead all players in the Peach State for 2017 and puts him 17th nationally.
When you watch him on film, you will notice that he is deceptively fast and light on his feet. He shows excellent strength and does a good job of using his hands to shed blocks to get to the QB and ball carrier. He shows good discipline and football smarts, takes good angles to the ball carrier. Cash has a big frame and has good length for a DE. It is likely he could add 20 to 30 pounds to his frame and play between 275-285 lbs as an SDE or even a DT.
So why doesn’t he have any offers? Cash’s recruitment reminds me very much of 2018’s Azeez Ojulari who had a great junior season in 2016 and then, whose recruiting blew up in the spring of 2017. Cash visited Georgia on Nov. 4th for the Bulldogs’ game versus South Carolina.

SCHOOL: Tucker High School
CITY, STATE: Tucker, GA
STATUS: Undeclared

NEWS & NOTES: The talented Tucker High School football player has already started to rack up the scholarship offers with at least 17, and the Georgia coaching staff put their name in the hat, offering McLendon back in February. While it is still early in the 2019 recruiting cycle, McLendon did name Alabama his leader back in July, and he took a visit to the Tide on Oct. 16th. Good news, though, he got to take a visit to Georgia for the South Carolina game last weekend on Nov. 4th.
