Greg Poole Imagine the narrative going forward, if we whoop Bama in the SECc.
Kirby is in Sabans head!
AlphaDawg Bulldawg Bob2 WillieWalden He certainly has the speed and athleticism to play the safety position but would need to be coached up in technique.
I’ll have to go back and look at his tape.. I thought he would be a good star or hybrid.. Either way I’m glad to see we’re on him..
Bulldawg Bob2 WillieWalden would make a good safety
Bansai buckeroo I saw an interview where his father seemed to have some question about how much Kirby wants him, based on the fact he wasn’t offered by Alabama. I guess those questions will be answered this weekend.
WillieWalden He’s not a bad WR, but I think he ends playing at LB in college.
I think USCe has the edge…
What position are we looking at for him?
Don’t know the date, but Marquez Bembry is planning to take an official to UGA.
WillieWalden I’d say 50/50 since he is taking a visit at UGA.
Odds on jamyest?
Oh ok… Make the best of it young man
WillieWalden Maurice Smith has one year left Willie.
WillieWalden one and done
freddawg Well said Fred
So how much eligibility does smith have left.. I see he has to complete degree within two years
Bulldawg Bob2 freddawg Yep, and not only the PR nightmare. A lawsuit would open the entire NCAA rulebook on transfers to scrutiny. I think they’ll do what they can to avoid that.
freddawg Aye. You know other ADs around the SEC are looking at this and do not want the PR nightmare that Bama has had with this; although, Saban and Bama did bring that on themselves. They could have granted his release and just left in the hands of the SEC from the very onset.
This is one of the few times Saban tried to play hardball and it bit him in the rear publically. Of course, once the season starts and Bama is winning games this story will slowly fade into the background noise … more than likely.
Bulldawg Bob2 I think you’re right Bob. Can’t keep doing this on an ad hoc basis.
Happy for Maurice Smith and his family. Plus, Georgia gets a talented, experienced CB that will add good depth to the secondary for 2016.
I suspect that the rules committee will bring up the grad transfer rule this off-season and propose a change based off of what happened with Smith’s situation at Alabama.
Greg Poole If he goes down and watches FSU stomp the U he may rethink playing at a school that far away that won’t be winning anything other than 9.7 games per year.

Greg Poole freddawg Great news! Competiion, talent and experience is always good.
Greg Poole Happy this is over, I hope the kid finds exactly what he is looking for at UGA.
freddawg He be a Dawg
Here is Rivals Smaith post

Just saw Smith was granted waiver by SEC
freddawg AlphaDawg Good as it gets
AlphaDawg Not sure what that means. Is he good to go?
Georgia can overcome recent LB transfer: There is more transfer news around the SEC, as senior linebacker Tim Kimbrough has http://sports.yahoo.com/news/lb-tim-kimbrough-transferring-from-georgia-161849438.html. He’s been a quality player for the Bulldogs, particularly the last two seasons, during which he has played 606 snaps with strong work against the run. Last season he was one of Georgia’s best run-stopping linebackers, so they’ll need to replace that production on early downs. It hasn’t been as smooth for Kimbrough in coverage, where he has graded below-average and has missed 13 of 100 tackle attempts the last two seasons.
Georgia does have potential reinforcements at inside linebacker, particularly a pair of true sophomores in Natrez Patrick and Roquan Smith. Patrick posted an excellent run-stopping grade with most of his work coming against Georgia Tech and then Penn State in the bowl game. It was an encouraging 160-snap showing for Patrick and a similar small sample of work for Smith, who posted a strong run grade on his 78 snaps. While losing Kimbrough does hurt the inside linebacker depth, the future is bright at the position for the Bulldogs and it sounds like Kimbrough and the coaching staff simply didn’t mesh.https://www.profootballfocus.com/college-daily-focus-georgia-can-overcome-recent-lb-transfer/

We will see what happens with this season and how he does at Miami. I am interested to see how he does and how he handles the drop of talent
Greg Poole We can’t let that happen.

Hire the dad to get the kid

freddawg AlphaDawg if this is the same case then the person put in charge of of the hearing was a football booster so that sounds obviously like a conflict of interest

Doc R BahitsAgain PTCDawg Bulldawg Bob2 freddawg interestingly, over the first 6 games of last year, Lambert was second in the SEC in yards per completion versus the end of year numbers. It’s almost like something happened somewhere around that 6th game.
But we can all just ignore that part.
We play at Alpharetta and probably going
AlphaDawg Not surprising. I don’t know what to think about all these cases that are dropped. Maybe athletes are a magnet for assault accusations, or maybe they get the benefit of the doubt from local judges and prosecutors.
Matt Stinchcomb will return to SEC broadcasts
