Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

    AlphaDawg crazy ring.

btw, in one response there was something about Stafford breaking his thumb.  did he?

1). He isn’t going to be the starter, so everyone set your hair on fire and run around screaming.

    or

2). He can’t wait for practice and the season to begin.

Well I’m going to go with @Avon Barksdale list from yesterday……. 🙂

At this camp, I’m expecting commits from Herring, Holloman, Lawrence, Stevens, Gibbs, Webb, Swift, Terrell, McBride, Britt, along with any and all Bailey, Edwards, or Stinchcomb boys…

BenKellam AlphaDawg ZippyMorocco Greg Poole True, I would have that exact mentality if UGA was playing. I would probably kiss my wife bye as she leaves in a beautiful dress on the way out for a NYC party and I’m in my Pj’s with a cold one fully zoned in. LOL – But given it’s been teams I’m not passionate about, so I casually watch. If I miss some here and there it’s no big deal for me.

PTCDawg BenKellam 1mandawgpack Bulldawg36 I knew he was on the bigger side. Didnt realize he was that big. Seems more like a solid DE.

  6. PTCDawg

BenKellam 1mandawgpack Bulldawg36 at 255 pounds at age 17, hard to imagine him being a college LB…but maybe so.

  7. BenKellam

AlphaDawg ZippyMorocco Greg Poole Problem comes about when you are with friends who dont like football. I’d rather be able to have a few people over to actually sit down and watch/talk about the game without the distractions of a NYE party at the same time.

  8. AlphaDawg

ZippyMorocco AlphaDawg Greg Poole I was hoping I could get some insight to why it’s not liked on NYE. I’m not a huge partier, but I may end up at some friends house or a bar on NYE and it’s cool to have something to watch other than Ryan Secrest for 4 hours.

Is there a list anywhere of the recruits on campus this weekend? Do we expect anyone to pull the trigger?

  10. AlphaDawg

DawgLink As dumb as it is. It’s still an opinion and it’s still under the first amendment. I do NOT agree with what he posted, but I defend our rights.

@DDaddy… He better step up his recruiting or he’s going to come up a brick or two short.

My son was born on NYE, so we never partied. On the bright side, I got a tax deduction for one day

DawgDaddy 1mandawgpack He wont be able to build himself a new job out of a couple bricks.

  14. Bulltoad

1mandawgpack The future is bright for both UGA and Braves.  The question for me is just when will it happen.  Love the direction of both right now.

  15. DawgDaddy

1mandawgpack After this year Booch is going to need a few more bricks.  He has built it up to this year or bust IMO.

  16. BenKellam

PTCDawg BenKellam I guess his Meeechigin commitment was pretty unexpected. Wasn’t he the one who’s mom got all the birthday cards from UGA and started crying because she was so happy?

  17. MMCSDAWG

1mandawgpack The steroid era put an end to my Baseball love affair.  I still recognize H. Aaron as the home run king and I will until someone that is clean breaks it…  I still follow our Braves and will root for them, but not very much.

  18. 1mandawgpack

Bulldawg36  I think he’ll be considered an OLB early in his career.  When he hopefully gets to Athens and gets a couple of years in a S&C program, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him pack on enough muscle to move to DE and play with his hand in the dirt.

On a slightly different topic, the Braves actually look like a competitive team under this new interim manager.  I’m not sure why the front office didn’t see it much sooner, but I think Gonzalez was a major part of the team underperforming the past few years.  While the Braves still have the worst record in MLB heading into the All Star break, it’s only by one game.  Things could be worse – we could be the LA Angels who are only marginally better than the Braves despite having one of the highest payrolls in MLB with Trout, Albert P. and a couple of pitchers each making over $20MM this year.

BenKellam I have Beal in the DL list as well but was told that was cheating. Other than that I only have Malik Herring and was told I could keep Aubrey Solomon on the list also.

  21. BenKellam

Addition: I guess you can count Beal as a GA DL commit since he was born in Norcross. But to my untrained eye, he seems like hed work out better as an OLB.

  22. Bansai buckeroo

I know everyone is excited to see Butch at 2pm…. Don’t try and hide it…. 🙂

  23. BenKellam

Greg Poole Man its sad that Drew never really hit his stride. And I guess TJ Stripling was just never able to put on the weight.

  24. BenKellam

So is the D line class just weaker than normal this year in Georgia? I guess there were a bunch of top tier DTs last year. Do we even end up with any commits on the D line?
