The 2019 recruiting cycle is in full force. Today’s post is all about who could potentially commit next for the Bulldogs. It may be early for the 2019 class, but I expect some of these players to pull the trigger sooner than later. I rank on a scale of three the confidence of them committing to Georgia.
Owen Pappoe

Owen Pappoe seems to be at a different school every weekend. With 42 offers, it’s not surprising to see him double teaming schools in one weekend. The No. 1 OLB visited Auburn on March 4th after he participated in Tennessee’s Junior Day on March 3rd. Before that he visited Georgia on February 24th. Despite Pappoe traveling all over the South East, it appears the Bulldogs are one of the top schools. In a recent SEC Country article, he told Benjamin Wolk that Georgia is No. 1 and Auburn is No. 2. However, Pappoe released his top-three schools last October. The three schools were Georgia, Clemson, and Nebraska. He told Wolk that his top three is no more and it was down to the Bulldogs and the Tigers.
It looks like Pappoe will continue to take visits all over, but appears to want a decision made by May, or before the upcoming football season. I rank him a 3/3 of going to Georgia because he’s a hometown kid for one and because Georgia’s in need of a linebacker of his style. He could come into Athens and make an impact early, and it appears to be a big deal to get early playing time. I’ve reached out for an interview, and I’m patiently waiting for a response to talk to this highly recruited linebacker.

Trezmen Marshall

Trezmen Marshall is a man of few words. He’s quiet and doesn’t attract the attention that most recruits do. Marshall visited Georgia on February 24, and told me that he enjoyed his time in Athens. According to 247 Sports and Marshall’s social media, he hasn’t been anywhere since the Georgia visit. This past December, he released his top three schools. Georiga, Clemson, and Alabama were the top three, however, he told me he would look into Tennessee too. Marshall has 12 offers and ranks as the No. 8 ATH and the No. 11 prospect in Georgia.
It’s hard to read what Marshall thinks and where he’s leaning but as of today, he is all Bulldog. Marshall told me that coaches leave it up to Marshall as to what position he wants to play. However, I expect him to play linebacker at the next level, and occasionally a fullback position. I give a 3/3 for Marshall because he said he wants to find a school where he feels like he could live in that city after he finishes his career, and well what better place to live than the classic city.

Travon Walker

Travon Walker is another hot commodity in the 2019 class. He’s the No. 3 DT and the No. 5 prospect in Georgia and only holds 12 offers. According to his social media, he hasn’t released any top schools, however, he did in our interview. Walker told me that Clemson, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina are his final four, but none of them hold an advantage. He mentioned that his final school must have a good business or sports medicine program. Walker likes Tray Scott and thinks he’s a great coach. He says that Georgia contacts him on a daily basis and tell him he has the chance to make a big impact. Despite having a top-four, Georgia appears to be the leader, and as a homegrown kid, it wouldn’t surprise me for Kirby Smart and Scott to reel in this one.
Out of the three prospects I mention, he’s the one that I am the least sure about. Walker told me he talks to Nolan Smith every day. Smith is one of Georgia’s 2019 commits and a vocal recruiter for the Bulldogs. Walker seems to have a great relationship with him, so only time will tell if he chooses Georgia. I give him a 2/3 on the confidence scale because it’s March 13, and he is only going to get more offers as the season approaches. By the end of his senior year, I expect his offer list to double unless he shuts down his recruiting. It could go either way for Walker, but he should be one to keep an eye out for.
