By the way Greg, the roster listing for 42 already was vacated days ago on georgiadogs.com which is the source of my list above

Their uniforms are super ugly! But they just stink..because stink. We will hammer em Athens this year

In honor of 21 days which happens to be Maurice Smith’s former number at Bama, I wondered what his digits would be for the Dawgs. He can’t be 21, that’s retired and Sinkwich’s forever. The transposition to 12 is already taken by Ramsey and Briscoe. We have lots of cases where there is a guy on offense and a guy on defense sharing a number. So what numbers are available either empty or an offensive player wearing today only?

The ACC had to agree to the following to get a network deal with ESPN:
http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17282288/acc-athletic-directors-undecided-conference-scheduling-requirements that the deal with ESPN “requires the ACC to either expand the league schedule to nine games and play at least one nonconference Power 5 opponent or remain at eight ACC games and play at least two nonconference Power 5 opponents.”
While TV ratings and more specifically the eventual ACC Network ratings are obviously the main foci here for ESPN, there is plenty of football sense to be found in the conference’s deal with the Worldwide Leader — specifically the second option.

Forget what position or role Smith will play for a moment. Do you know how many senior defensive backs the Bulldogs have? One, and it’s http://247sports.com/Player/Quincy-Mauger-18045. Sure, the group has played plenty of snaps but Smith is another experienced body at Mel Tucker’s and Kirby Smart’s disposal in the back half.
But that’s not all he brings to the table. Smith has big-game experience. Whether it’s been special teams or in a defensive role, he has played in the high-profile openers, a BCS bowl, the College Football Playoff, and a National Championship Game. He has seen the little things that are done in crucial moments to win or lose those games.
He also has an extensive knowledge of what Georgia will be doing defensively.Where he fits…
Pick a spot. Smith has played corner, a place where UGA has experience but could use some size and depth. Malkom Parrish and http://247sports.com/Player/Juwuan-Briscoe-57626 are both under 6-feet tall, so Smith gives Tucker the ability to match up with bigger, taller receivers on the perimeter if need be.

    Anonymous SEC coach quotes:
“They’ve got talent across the board,” he said. “And those running backs, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel – that’s a great combination when they’re healthy. Chubb is easily one of the top backs in the country when he’s healthy.
    “Offensively, http://gridironnow.com/kirby-smart-likes-jim-chaney-diversity-offensive-coordinator/ – that’s a headache (for opponents). They’re good football coaches.”
Offensive coordinator Chaney and offensive line coach Pittman were together at Tennessee, then Arkansas before joining forces in Athens.
Another coach is high on the Bulldogs.
“Georgia is a team to watch,” the coach said. “Everybody is behind Kirby. They had 93,000 at the spring game. And Kirby is a get-it-done type guy. He knows how to do the deal. They’ve already got a machine rolling.”

Today is the day that the quarterbacks really have the opportunity to create some separation between themselves. Scrimmage at 1:00.
