freddawg They are both good running backs. I would be happy if either one came to Georgia. I’d be stoked if both decided to play for the Dawgs!

  2. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 What do you think of Akers vs Swift?  I actually liked Swift’s video better, even though Akers is bigger and faster.  Swift broke a lot of tackles in the one I watched, while Akers did a lot of open field running.

  3. Bulldawg Bob2

Three names I know visiting UGA today for the Dawg’s scrimmage are Jamyest Williams, Leonard Warner and Cam Akers.

  4. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2 At least Reuse didn’t call it a 52 “year” punt this time.  That’s a heck of a hang time.

  5. Backwudz

This wouldn’t hold up if UGA was to appeal. A student normally is given up to five years to complete 100 credit hours.

  6. freddawg

Bulldawg Bob2  Yep, Bob, I’ll be very happy if they just say nobody was hurt.  At certain positions, that could be the biggest factor in our success this season.

  7. Bulldawg Bob2

freddawg scuffletowndawg Hard to say Fred, but you are probably right. Biggest news I want from this first scrimmage is no new injuries and guys competed and played hard … and have come along so that they are better than they were a week ago.

  8. freddawg

scuffletowndawg Bulldawg Bob2 I have a feeling we won’t get meaningful qb stats.  Staff hasn’t said much so far, other than they’re all competing hard.

  9. Bulldawg Bob2

    scuffletowndawg Hey ScuffletownDawg! Good afternoon.

We will do our best to get you guys and gals the most information we can from today’s scrimmage. Big question is – how much information will new Head Coach Kirby Smart allow out ot he media?

RealtorDawg (aka 10canpirate) I guess you saw where our former Pirate, Byron Buxton, made his MLB debut a few weeks ago.

  11. scuffletowndawg

Bulldawg Bob2 Will we get information about today’s scrimmage from your staff or others? Especially the qb stats or general performance. Thanks.

RealtorDawg (aka 10canpirate) haws1178 Hobnailboot aka RobG not right off hand I’ll ask around. I work around some guys who are about to retire. Many of them have stated moving to the lake when they do. Is there a sight to look at the listing

If you need new Georgia gear or need to restock up for the season ahead, the new official UGA collection from the Bookstore for 2016 is out:

Backwudz The statement I read just said if Smith didn’t complete his graduate program in two years, UGA wouldn’t be able to receive future grad transfers (presumably within the SEC?) for several years.  He acted like he was giving the waiver to UGA instead of Maurice Smith, with a stick to follow if UGA failed to meet a milestone that the school doesn’t control.

  15. Bulldawg36

Could be soon..if my wife gets the job at Morgan county. Will move some where in the Athens area. I think Madison is 30 mins from Athens. That wouldn’t be too far of a drive.

  16. Backwudz

I hope it is a NFL condition in there cause Mo Smith ain’t graduating anytime soon. No doubt he can get it done in the classroom.

  17. Bulldawg36

Can’t believe they’re this upset.. They act like they have lost a starting QB or DL. Bama can’t always win at everything.

  18. Greg Poole

Time to get loaded up for Sanford and B-M – photos later this afternoon – video in the evening.

  19. Bulldawg Bob2

RealtorDawg (aka 10canpirate) I hope so RD. We be a lot of fun. I always enjoy getting to see and meet the posters and readers at Bulldawg Illustrated from behind the keyboard in person.

  20. freddawg

PTCDawg Yeah, he basically took a slap at UGA as if we instigated this process to steal Smith.  Unless he has proof of that, there is no reason that UGA should be potentially punished because a player wants to transfer here.

  21. Backwudz

I’m with you but like bama fans i can be selfish. If Brice goes on to grad transfer to LSU or Bama next season it’s going to mess with my brain…lol

  22. freddawg

Sankey’s conditional terms for Smith’s transfer feel a bit vindictive, and aimed more at UGA than Smith.  Unless he has evidence that there was tampering by UGA staff, I fail to see why the athlete’s chosen graduate school should be penalized for being his choice.  Grad transfers frequently list degree choice as a reason for transfer to a specific school, and I don’t recall the NCAA putting any conditions on the school if the player fails to graduate.  I hope this issue doesn’t go away, and I’d like to see other players challenge the rule, preferably in a court of law to prevent administrators like Sankey from creating rules and conditions at their whim.
