    freddawg To the players, once he transferred to Georgia and put on the uniform, he became part of the team. They know who he is. They know he has played 3 years in the SEC at Alabama. If he comes in and competes hard, he’ll earn their respect and fit in just fine.

    DawgByte If Smith comes in and is able to compete and get down the playbook, and there is no reason to think he cannot, I think he is in that top group of six DBs that Coach Smart and Coach Tucker will use a lot.

    I don’t think he plays exclusively at safety, though. I think you will see him get moved around and used at different spots in the secondary according to what Tucker wants to do to confound opposing offenses.
