CHRISTIAN BARMORE
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: DL – No. 17 DT
HT, WT: 6 foot 5.5, and 292 lbs
SCHOOL: Saints Neumann & Goretti High School
CITY, STATE: Philadelphia, PA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on October 2nd.
# OFFERS: 17
NEWS & NOTES: Since UGA offered Christian Barmore back on Oct. 2nd, his recruitment has literally exploded. The Philadelphia, PA prospect has received over 12 offers since the Bulldogs offered. He had been committed to Temple but de-committed from the Owls on Oct. 6th. Barmore has not set a date to make his final decision nor is he planning to sign during the early signing period. He took an official visit to Baylor on Dec. 1st and Alabama on Dec. 8th.
Barmore is a physical specimen at nearly 6 foot 6 and 292 lbs and is athletic for a player his size. However, he has only been playing football for about a year; so, he is still raw but his potential is sky high.

BRENTON COX
CLASS: 2018
POSITION: DL – No. 2 SDE
HT, WT: 6 foot 4.5, and 247 lbs
SCHOOL: Stockbridge High School
CITY, STATE: Stockbridge, GA
STATUS: Undeclared
UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 01/26/2017.
# OFFERS: 25
NEWS & NOTES: Brenton Cox had been verbally committed to Ohio State since April 25, 2017, but he de-committed from the Buckeyes on Dec. 6th. While it has been thought that Cox would be a long shot to flip from the Buckeyes, I have maintained that there has always been the potential that he could do so. The Georgia coaching staff have continued to recruit the talented Stockbridge High School DE. The good news here is that recruiting has paid off as Cox decided to visit Athens for the Bulldogs final home game of the season versus of Kentucky instead of visiting Alabama.
And Georgia will get him on campus one more time for an official. Cox is set to take an official visit to UGA this weekend on Dec. 15th. Alabama is also still in the race, though, and he took an official visit to the Crimson Tide back on Dec. 1st. Right now, though, I do like Georgia’s chances here. Brenton Cox is planning to sign during the early signing period between Dec. 20-22, and he also plans to enroll early.

KJ HENRY

POSITION: DE/OLB – No. 3 WDE

SCHOOL: West Forsyth High School
CITY, STATE: Clemmons, NC

UGA OFFER: Yes, offered on 04/21/2016.
# OFFERS: 29
NEWS & NOTES: KJ Henry was offered by the Bulldogs back in April of 2016 and following a year of recruiting, he listed Georgia in his top-10 on April 5th. A couple of months later, Henry dropped his top five on July 31st, and the Bulldogs made the cut along with Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, and VT. Many think Clemson is the team to beat here, but Henry’s recruiting is wide open IMO.
Georgia is very much “in it” as far as this recruiting battle goes. He took an official visit to UGA on Sept. 23rd for the Mississippi State game and had a great visit. Henry also took an official visit to VT on Oct. 21st, to Clemson on Oct. 28th, and South Carolina on Nov. 11th. That leaves him with one more official visit if he should choose to take it. Henry has scheduled his commitment announcement for Dec. 20th at 4:00 p.m. ET, where he plans to sign during the early signing period. He also plans on enrolling early.

NEWS & NOTES: Parsons de-committed from Penn State on April 23rd and a little over a month later put UGA in his top 7 he released on May 26th. Parsons took an official to visit to Ohio State all the way back in September and he also took an official to Nebraska on Oct. 7th for the Cornhuskers home game against Wisconsin. Parsons took his third official to Oklahoma on Oct. 28th, and his fourth to Penn State on Dec. 8th last weekend. As things stand right now, it appears he is leaning towards PSU and he had a very good visit with the Sooners during his official; so, OU has to be seen as contenders here. But Georgia will get his last official visit this weekend on Dec. 15th.
So, what are Georgia’s chances here? The Bulldogs needed to get one of Parsons’ final two officials and they have done just that; doing one better, in fact, by getting his last official. I still think it is a long shot for him to land in Athens but crazier things have happened in recruiting and with Kirby and his staff involved, you cannot ever count them completely out.
Micah Parsons plans to announce his decision and sign during the early signing period on Dec. 20th. He will be a normal enrollee in June.
