Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

@Chief I know if Alpha is going to try and make it from Miami/Ft. lauderdale. I’m glad I won’t be riding with him….haha

BenKellam  As I understand it, it’s the Paterno family that won’t let it die as they feel as if Joe was wronged in this mess.  So, it’s them pursuing “clearing his name” that is bringing that whole incident to light again.  I think instead of clearing his name, they’re going to drag it further through the mud as the facts don’t look good as far as supporting his innocence.

Greg Poole MMCSDAWG I hope so, We definitely need to find some DL help in this 17 class…  Are there any Juco’s out there?

  4. MMCSDAWG

AlphaDawg Bansai buckeroo Depends on what part of Florida??  Miami/Ft. Lauderdale?  Maybe not, but Tampa or Canaveral you should make it!  If not, stop in Jax and I’ll have the game on!!!

  5. AlphaDawg

Bansai buckeroo my millennial instincts will not allow me to watch a recorded game. I might skip through some highlights, but with Facebook, twitter, instaSnap and all the other things I have it would be spoiled long before. I’m thinking if I can leave Florida by 9am I can make it!

  6. Bansai buckeroo

@Alpha…. I’ll be out of country for the Florida game. I quit arguing with the wife years ago. Thank god for my DVR….. 🙂

  7. MMCSDAWG

I hear that Solomon will be in town for the camps this weekend.  Sic’em kirby, bring this one back home!

  8. MMCSDAWG

DawgByte BenKellam That he knew about the incidents all the way back to 1976 and that Shiano and other assistants also knew and witnessed some of the acts taking place.  Not good.

  9. BenKellam

There was some new testimony a couple days ago that claimed hes known since the mid 70s. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/new-court-documents-suggest-others-at-penn-state-knew-of-jerry-sandusky-abuse/2016/07/12/9752f5a6-4853-11e6-90a8-fb84201e0645_story.html

All the new news coming out about Joe Paterno probably isnt going to help penn state when it comes to Mark Webb. Who would want to go to a program like that?

Greg Poole  See comments below – you’re way late to the dance as the DJ has packed up and gone.

  12. Greg Poole

Come on guys, where is the “we probably told him to looks around because __________________________ is a silents commit” comment

  13. BahitsDawg

AlphaDawg She is looking at Tom Cruise and will get back Sep. 3?   Tell her to stay with him through football season.

  14. AlphaDawg

My wife is looking at a cruise that gets back on Saturday Sep 3!! lol I’m going to be going 110 up i75

Bulldawg36 Great topic and one I’d love to debate. Here’s my take on Cam Akers.
#1.) He’s not a Running Back, he’s a running QB! Massive, humongous, monstrous, mega difference. When Cam runs he’s not running from the 3 point stance with the objective of hitting a particular hole or gap at full speed, therefore his pad level is completely different than a RB’s. Watch his videos his running standing straight up. There will be a significant, I’m talking significant adjustment to go from a QB to a RB in the SEC.
Let me be clear, Cam is a gifted RUNNER, but I’m not 100% convinced that translates to RB in the SEC. I think we’ve got a hell of a RB in T. Carter and if we can land Swift, we’re done.

  16. MMCSDAWG

BahitsDawg Greg Poole The quote is wrong and out of context…  read below what Fournette actually said at Media days.

  17. MMCSDAWG

Greg Poole This quote is NOT how it was reported by other news sources.  The interview with Fournette was actually very kind of Chubb and he went on to say that Chubb told him (Fournette).  Here is the qoute

““No days off,” Fournette said during Day 4 of SEC Media Days, relaying a message Chubb told him last week.

  18. Bulldawg36

Would like to have swift. But I’m not too worried about running backs. They will come. More worried about Elite Wrs

  19. DawgByte

Bulldawg36 If we get Webb then Swift comes with him, which is even better. Unfortunately, we’re not getting one of Swift’s last 3 visits. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bama gets Swift.

  20. MMCSDAWG

Dawgsrulegumpsdrool2 I hope so, but something tells me if he does it will be “Silent”..  he is enjoying the limelight and attention too much to end the process.  Kirby will know something by the end of the camp though.

ronaldo77  I think CKS recruits every player that he sees as a contributor to our program until NSD, committed or not.  I don’t know where McKinney was on our board, but if he was on the staff’s radar previously, they’re committing him hard regardless.

BahitsDawg  Lowndes County to be exact.  Folks from S. Ga. don’t like to be associated with the hated cross-town rivals.  I grew up in Thomas County and know for a fact that Central changed its name to Thomas Country Central because when I was in school and we started going deep into the playoffs each year, all the papers and radio stations called us “Thomasville.” They used to be our hated rival but have become irrelevant in HS football over the past 10 – 15 years, which is sad as they used to be a state power.
