If you want to tick off old time bama fans tell them Saban is the greatest football coach ever.

  2. Jesse1

Reddawg13 Greg Poole The point continues to be argued ad nauseum, that the former coach didn’t have the tools at his disposal CKS has. Well he didn’t do very much to convince us donors that he was trying too hard to change that situation. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. The early bird gets the worm. And last but not least, ” Ask, and ye shall receive.”

  3. BahitsAgain

freddawg BahitsAgain I wish they would let them get tackled to the ground a few times a practice to see how they handle it.

  4. TeeHDawg

Morning guys. What’s players does anyone see us pulling late or flipping for the 17 class? Examples like Tray Bishop, Caleb Chandler, or an Aubrey Solomon.

  5. Jesse1

Greg Poole I respect the former coach, though unless we happen to meet up on the field of play, my interest in his current employer, or his ups and downs is of no interest to me.

  6. freddawg

haws1178 I wouldn’t mind seeing Woerner lined up as an H back sometimes.  He’s a good blocker and could catch some passes from there too.

  7. freddawg

BahitsAgain  I wish Chaney would wear a whistle in practice and blow it after 4 seconds, call it a sack.  Get these guys counting in their head so they know when they’re in the danger zone.

  8. haws1178

Do y’all think we will go away from using a traditional FB? I seen some arky plays where they brought a TE in motion to act as a FB . Is that something we can expect to see?

  9. BahitsAgain

dsw61 haws1178 He had a lot of dropped balls, by linebackers and dbs.   Yeah, he got away with a few.

Poor Futon Baton couldn’t buy a break.  Same when Ramsey through a few picks.

The biggest issue I had with Greyson is that he seemed to seize up in the game situation.  He took so long to through a lot of deep balls that the DB would catch up or it would be under thrown.   There were lots of times that it seemed like he had 6 or 7 seconds before he threw.  The OL gets lots of heat from people, but they gave GL a lot of time and did it consistently.

haws1178 Kirby should send out Sony in the shotgun for first play, just to piss everybody off.

Greg Poole Well put Greg. I am stoked that Smart is not doing it the Richt way. Richt did some wonderful things at UGA and did it with class. He brought us up to a level that was very respectable and competitive. At Vandy, Miss. St. Kentucky that type of record would be awesome. At UGA where there is more talent from high schools that are within an hour of Athens than in most all colleges, the atmosphere in Athens, the facilities, the fact that we have won it before even though it was a long time ago set the expectations higher. Richt’s record became complacent and the games we lost with no explanation became his demise. I am ready to see some fire from the head coach and attention to every detail, even special teams. I want a team that is big, physical, tough, unrelenting, filled with highly recruited talent, so yeah I am glad Smart is not doing it the Richt way anymore! I wish Richt well in his new endeavor and hope he leaned some things at UGA that will help him in Miami. As for Kirby, “It Damn Sho Can Be Us’ and “Take No Prisoners!”

That’s the thing that scares me about Ramsey. The inconsistencies that he has shown. The blocks for feet and deer in the headlights of Lambert are not a very attractive commodities either . Eason just has a bunch of unknowns although extremely talented. The coaching staff has definitely got their hands full with this decision

One more comment about QB play. I know there were family members and lettermen in the stands who have posted their observations about Saturday’s scrimmage, but I would not totally discount the post-scrimmage comments of the guy who matters (start at the 52 second mark)

“I don’t know that we got anywhere with regards to the quarterback”

I think too many writers, and coaches, are unfairly comparing  Smart to former coach Mark Richt.
Richt did business differently at Georgia, and was liked by all;  anything Smart does that’s un-Richt like has been scrutinized to the nth degree.
But, the whole point of the hire was to get away from doing things Richt’s way. That’s not to say I disliked Richt. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about him, but this is no longer his team, it’s Smart’s.
Why is that so hard for some to grasp …hell, even the flagship paper is still finding ways to check-in on Richt–nine months later.
    *scratches head*
End of the day, Smart will do business the way he feels is necessarily  to improve the product on the field. And, for the millionth time, that’s why he was hired!

Reddawg13 AlphaDawg I don’t know, the black ones they made a few months ago are still sold out too….

  16. dsw61

haws1178 Ramsey’s going to have to show he has the ability and interest level to learn the offensive game plan week to week. Chaney mentioned that as a criteria in his presser. As far as Ramsey’s decision making, I’m not convinced he’s any worse than Lambert or Eason. Lambert made plenty of bad decisions last year; he just happened to get away with several.

  17. freddawg

Bulldawg36 I’ll go with Lambert too, for now.  But like everyone else, I think he has a short window to prove he can operate from the pocket under pressure.

  18. haws1178

I guess I’m going to jump on the Ramsey bus. He seems to be the underdog and that’s who I usually end up pulling for.

  19. dsw61

Greg Poole Based on what has been leaked from the scrimmage; it sounds like the QBs are performing as many expected. Eason is playing like a freshman. Ramsey makes one great throw followed by a pick six. Lambert makes the fewest mistakes, but is underwhelming and struggles moving the team down the field. Don’t know what Chaney is going to do. It’ll probably be Lambert against UNC because of his football IQ and conservative approach to managing the game.

Good Morning Dawg Nation! We finally made the countdown into the teens, less than 3 weeks I’m getting stoked

  21. Reddawg13

Greg Poole Penn State has had some rough going, bet there is more to come! But I do hope they beat OSU!

  22. Reddawg13

Greg Poole I am still going with Eason or Ramsey. Unless Chaney is getting something out of Lambert that no one has seen yet, he is not the man to win a championship.
