Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

I heard yesterday that Jake Edwards transferred to Georgia Southern. Guess I missed that one.

  2. Bansai buckeroo

It’s a Japanese plot to take over the world…##..But Bansai will be ok…. 🙂

  3. RobDawg

I think there already have been several crimes of opportunity and maybe a couple deaths attributed to using this game

  4. 1Dawg under God

So how long before sombody gets killed over a Pikachu? I mean it’s bound to happen

  5. jwp1983

Bulldawg36 I’d like to see the correlation of pedestrian deaths to when pokerman came out and got big.

  6. jwp1983

Bulldawg36 I see Finebaum jogging alot of mornings. He’s about 6′ 2″ 95 lbs. I think the mental midget has leverage and would win with a solid pin.

Greg Poole BahitsDawg I didn’t know SDS (Saturday down South) was around back in 69′!  lol

  8. Greg Poole

BahitsDawg  That is just a rip-off of the slogan of SDS from 1969. It fizzled the and is non-existant now.

  9. BahitsDawg

Hopefully the whole day of rage thing today was just some nerds wild dream and it fizzles.  We don’t need any more division in our country and the world.  Anyhow, stay safe.

Greg Poole Score Check that just means all these predictions are just a shot in the dark, so who knows where he will be going

  11. BahitsDawg

Bulldawg36 Finebaum wouldn’t stand a chance.  He is still in too much awe of his deity lord Saban to lay a glove on him.

MMCSDAWG Greg Poole  Agreed – those are only the items in which there was a “paper trail” that can be investigated.  You have to believe that there were lots of money handshakes along the way that has no trail that can be investigated.

RumRunnerDoogie 1mandawgpack  Rum, I’ve been expecting to see wildebeests, lions and giraffes here in Atlanta it’s been so hot.  Feel like I’m out on the plains in Africa.

Greg Poole I know he is after some guys and there are some top rated WR’s that have us either leading or very high on their list, so I believe we will get some of those guys with the QB’s we have. I also believe if Kirby can have some success this season, 9 or 10 wins, can keep the current staff together, then it is only going to get better from here. If those two things happen, we will be “Alabama of the East” in 2 or 3 seasons, turning kids away and always in the National picture.

RumRunnerDoogie Score Check  I think your comparison is a good one as in a lot of way, he reminds me of Woerner. Those guys from 1-16 in middle Ga. don’t need a lot of fanfare and media attention relating to the recruiting process as their families and communities keep them grounded and provide the support they need.  I can tell you that growing up in S. Ga., the entire community raises kids.

66DAWGnNC It would be great to get all the best WRs, but we have a good catching crew between the TEs, RBs and WRs.

The thing I thought was the coolest yesterday was that we didn’t drop out of the 247 second spot even with the decommit.  That speaks volumes about the quality of our other commitments.   I hate losing a commit, but hopefully it will be for the best for both the young man and for UGA and for whatever school he lands at…. unless it is Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, GTech, Scar….

  17. Greg Poole

MMCSDAWG  LOL – you bet! It would be pretty cool to have a vote on one of these awards though.

  18. Greg Poole

66DAWGnNC  I don’t see many thinking that the decommit is a big negative. Kirby will get his WRs.

    Greg Poole Score Check
Well, that’s not a bad way to go.
I find it interesting we hear so very little from him, but yet the Dawgs dominate his CBs.

  20. 66DAWGnNC

I saw yesterday where we had a WR decommit. Obviously some other sites presented it as “The Sky is Falling at UGA.” Personally I don’t understand why the top WR’s in the country are not committing on the spot with Eason, Fromm, and hopefully Lawrence, although I fear he may be headed to Clemson, maybe not. So, I got to thinking: (1)  Was the decommit mutual? (2) Was it one-sided? Or, (3) Is this indicative of higher rated guys wanting to come on board and the kid realized he would see the field faster somewhere else? I don’t put much emphasis on the “star” rating, figuring if the staff offers a scholly the kid can play. It does seem that we need some of the top WR’s to really solidify the offensive recruiting. We are loading up at the other positions on that side of the ball.
