Bulldawg36 At least since 1991.
dsw61 Greg Poole and, he didn’t have the recruiting gold mines of Georgia to pick from.
Should be fun.
DawgLink I took that comment to mean that he isn’t a prototypical dual threat QB that runs a lot.
What about the part of Eason not being a “special athlete”? That is where I thought the writer did not know what he was talking about
Spoken like a champion dsw61
SDS just has some random guys writing ,for the most part
Saw some clips of Lawrence throwing at the Catersville camp. The one throwing drill I saw him doing looked like a pretty good drill. At least he was standing upright on two feet…and not throwing from one knee. There was also a really good slow motion video of him throwing. He has a really good throwing motion. Holds the ball close to center of the chest and close to number height…which I like because it’s more natural. Good hand break with proper elbow bend. From there his arm motion is on auto pilot and really smooth.
DawgLink The writer is all over the map to the point of being incoherent when talking about Eason’s throwing motion.
He says Eason’s release is:
“a repeatable over-the- top motion…”
No it’s not. He actually throws more 3/4 than over the top because he throws with level shoulders a lot. Try and throw a spiral with level shoulders while throwing over the top and it will become really clear why he tends to throw with a lower arm slot.
Then he says this:
“Though the release looks great, it can be tightened up. At times it appears as though Eason has been drawn up from a textbook and that can lead to some wasted motion; many coaches teach quarterbacks to get the ball up by their ear hole, rather than allowing the quarterback to find his natural release point (anywhere above the shoulder, that allows a full extension, is a good release). When Eason forces the “textbook” mechanics his motion loops and gives a greater opportunity for defenders to read, react, and break on the ball.”
Eason rarely breaks his hands and takes the ball up to his ear hole…known as premature external rotation of the throwing arm; or in laymen terms…throwing like a girl. I’ve never seem Eason loop his throwing arm on any throws. It’s impossible to have a loop in your throwing arm when you keep your throwing arm elbow bent 90 degrees or less; which Eason does. It sounds like the writer just cut and pasted random stuff from the internet.
And having coaches that kids think will win championships!
DawgLink Shreds?
Same things could be said about any QB. QB delivery and mechanics are like a golf swing there is no such thing as a perfect swing. But the great ones make it work and you can’t describe or critique the intangibles that separate the average from the great!
Not sure what to make of this article. Writer talks good attributes and then shreds Eason. Anyone else feel that way?
Greg Poole I think the OL coaching will be fine:
From 2012-15, a Pittman-coached offensive line has led the SEC in fewest sacks allowed—three years at Arkansas and one at Tennessee. Since 2013, eight offensive linemen coached by Pittman have been drafted, including two first-round picks.
We have 3 offensive lineman!!! Three good ones baby!!! Will this be our best class in UGA history? I truly hope so!!!!!

Bansai buckeroo Agreeance.
We will know more after this season. And one more with the 17 class with a year under their belt.
We are number 4 in recruiting!!!!!!
Greg Poole
Demery is a light weight in this crowd.
Reddawg13
YES! I couldn’t be happier about this development.
Now to see if the actual coaching is as good as the recruiting. The energy and enthusiasm of the staff suggests they will be. Attention to detail matters.
Well Kirby obviously has this recruiting thing down. Come this fall we will find out about the head coaching and the staff…I’m excited!!!!!
Have I mentioned recently how pumped I am about this coaching staff? If not… I am!!!
Greg Poole Great job.
Reddawg13 Getting a for real OL coach will do that for you….
