freddawg AlphaDawg SonofHenry yeah, but are you superhuman like Chubb, Sony and Fournette?

  2. freddawg

SonofHenry  I would use that excuse, except I never had anything that amounted to a career anyway.

  3. BahitsAgain

SonofHenry AlphaDawg I didn’t care for him as a freshman, but he grew on me.  He is fun to watch and seems like a good kid.  I like how he says good things about Chubb and I loved how he flicked Trey over his shoulder.

I hope he is ok.  He brings more excitement to the game.

  4. freddawg

AlphaDawg SonofHenry I’m sure he’ll be fine, eventually.  But those sprained ankles can take a long time.  I had a severe sprain that required 6 weeks in a cast.

  5. Hobnailboot aka RobG

If you do please don’t let the discussion be about paying players, he has beat that horse to death

  6. SonofHenry

AlphaDawg SonofHenry Yeah don’t wish for anyone to get hurt, but it was weird cause I was just reading that article that EC posted about Heisman candidates in SEC.

I’m interested in seeing how much Lambert improves under what I consider to be a better QB coach

  8. AlphaDawg

Greg Poole I agree with your guess. I’m sure he wants a starter to consistently start working with the 1s, but I don’t think he shows his hand yet

  9. Greg Poole

All of this QB chatter may get some direction tonight when we meet with Kirby. We have not seen him since he watched the film of the scrimmage. However, my guess is that he still doesn’t say much until early next week.

  10. Bulldawg36

Lambert is just gun shy!!! If he could just get into a rhythm. He might be good qb. He’s got to play more assertive this year.

  11. Greg Poole

Bleudawg Completely agree. And that goes back to the QB and game plan.
We all watched team stack the box last year and saw that UGA was unable to back team off the LOS.
I think you’ll see Chaney invite teams to play 9 up close and try to make them pay with the tight ends. If successful he’ll start pounding the LOS with the backs then use WRs more.

  12. freddawg

Greg Poole  Definitely a head coach decision in that case.  I remember when Stafford got pulled against Colorado, and Cox came in and won the game.  Didn’t hurt Stafford’s mindset, but he had a bit more time in the system.  Stafford did acknowledge that he was in over his head for a lot of that season.  He finally stretched his wings against Auburn and Virginia Tech.

  13. Greg Poole

freddawg Depends, but that’s why he getting $3.5 million per year. My point goes back to the separation. The conversation is based on them being close in an impartial assessment.

  14. Bleudawg

Greg Poole PTCDawg I agree 100% but they still offensively have to be able to influence the defensive formation.. Last year they just plugged everything up and dared us to throw. It takes a hell of an OL w/ an All American to penetrate that. Of course Chubb abd Gurly had some long ones when they did break thru.

  15. freddawg

Greg Poole  I don’t disagree with that, but what if Eason starts and struggles when the lights are on?  Would you pull him, or just bite the bullet and let him play.

  16. Bleudawg

freddawg Bleudawg i think UNC is a tough opponent. We have to win that game. then we have a little time to kind of mess around (breathing room). Everyone will get their first grass stains and things will settle some. I just honestly think they let GL back this bad boy out of the driveway.
then they “may” switch drivers. who knows, im simply a fan lol

  17. haws1178

I kinda agree. The argument of easing him into play to protect his confidence I don’t quite buy into. I’m sure he’s lost a game before and if you play you know you will again. I believe he is mature enough to handle his mistakes.

  18. Greg Poole

PTCDawg  The OL is more about how it performs as a unit than, say, WRs or QBs where individual stats mean something. In that regard, your comments about Pittman are most important. The OL never bought into what Sale was selling, but that is not the case this year.

  19. Bleudawg

freddawg Bulldawg36 I think it will come down to who knows the offense the best by week one. Yes its a new system for all of them but Lambert likely will have the edge. Im sure the other two are getting work in practice but since they have not passed him n the depth chart I would theorize GL is the guy at the moment.

  20. freddawg

Bleudawg  Or, if the race really is close, maybe Lambert starts and gets a half to show what he can do.  It’s hard to estimate how quick Chaney would be to give the others a look if Lambert looked indecisive.

  21. Bleudawg

AlphaDawg DawgByte TtownDawg lagadawg Lambert will start and if he does likely play the whole game. Unless its a blow out either way then you will see 1 or both of the other two. jmho

  22. Greg Poole

Bulldawg36  I’ll get around to inviting Michael (The Senator) at some point.  I talked to him early this year but we never got it done.
We need to get everyone affiliated with the site going first.
