Greg Poole made a comment either earlier today or yesterday that Atkins has really stepped up to be a leader on that d-line in the front 7.
TtownDawg He is a good Athlete and Chaney will probably use him as one of the TE’s that will line up off the LOS and in various positions. He looked good in the G day game so I believe he will get some opportunities.

Greg should be sending me some photos in a little bit, and there was supposed to be a post-practice presser I believe; however, with weather delays, it might be delayed.
DawgByte I think its Easons opportunity to spend some time with the #1’s in preparation for this weekends scrimmage. This scrimmage will go a LONG way in determining who is going to be the starter game #1. I think Kirby is giving Eason all the reps this week in order to better evaluate him running the #1 offense this weekend during the scimmage.

TtownDawg Coaching staff is going to play the best players at each position. I don’t think that will leave Jordan Davis out. He has looked good in practice, but TE is one deep and talented position. From reports, all those guys are competing and play hard.

Hello everyone, I was wondering what kind of role will Jordan Davis play this year? I would like to see that he has more of a chance to play on Sundays than what the combine offers.
Way off topic; but my daughter just called me from college all excited. Told me to go to MLB Network’s Facebook page where she directed me to a video piece on hitting with Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays. She was excited because he was saying to do a lot of the same stuff that I teach. The best part was when he was asked to give one key nugget to a 10 year about hitting…he responded with…”If your coach tells you to get on top of the ball; tell him No!” Then proceeded to explain why doing that is bad…the same way I explain it. Kind of made my day because it gets awful lonely teaching the high level barrel path; when everyone else is teaching the hands-to-ball swing down junk that is commonly taught.

freddawg WillieWalden Barnett is up to 292 to 295 lbs. Daquon Hawkins is up to 320 lbs. Michail Carter is around 295 lbs as well. Not sure about Atkins and Thompson, but they are both over 305 lbs.

Very good indications from practice. John Atkins was again present and participating more, but in a non-contact jersey. This is a very good sign with 16 days till opening game. Hopefully, he will be ready.

Media got to see warm-up drills, but then the bottom dropped out with lightning and thunder; so, it is quite possible the practice is delayed ATM.
Practice got underway. Starting to get reports now.
freddawg Bulldawg Bob2 DawgByte My guess is that the two front runners at QB will get pretty equal shares with the ones and twos for the upcoming scrimmage, and then starting next week, if the coaches have made a decision on who the likely starter will be, he will start to get the majority of work with the ones.
DawgLink There are pros and cons. A new NFL stadium puts Atlanta in the mix for continuing to host the Chick-Fil-A college kick-off game as well as the SEC championship and getting a bid to host the Super Bowl.
While one baseball game doesn’t draw in as much revenue compared to one football game, like you said, the amount of home games give the potential for baseball to be the higher revenue stream.
At least I would assume.
As it is, the metro area is getting both a new baseball and football stadium with neither team putting a winning product on the field. I question the timing. I would have waited till the teams were on the up-swing and knocking on a championships so it would be easier to sell tickets and put butts in the seats.
DawgLink I don’t think he was going to help the Falcons, until the Braves said forget ya, and the Falcons started seriously talking about doing the same.
