Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Joe Dawg Greg Poole If any player was moving to a new position, I would bet on Tyler simmons going to RB. He’s 5’11, 194lbs. Could easily get to 200+ with our S&C program and he runs a 4.41

  2. dsw61

MMCSDAWG dsw61 Pitt’s first drive used 8:19 of clock.  Pitt’s time of possession for the game was 35:15.

    dsw61 good stuff DSW.  Thanks!

I feel confident about this one, but after Boise, I am a little more controlled.  Before that game, I was going on their sites and reading all their comments.  I made a few, but was respectful.  Looking back, I really thought it would be a cake walk.   sigh…

  4. MMCSDAWG

dsw61 Exactly…  Unless Chizek has done some magical since January, we should be able to run on this team and in turn control TOP.  All I know is we are less than 60 days until it’s Game on!

Have the felony charges stemming from the BB gun incident been reduced yet?

  6. Bansai buckeroo

I’m a little surprised we have had that many off field issues with a new sheriff in town… I would have thought the players would be feeling out their new coach and not acting out as much…

Watched the first half of last year’s North Carolina – Pitt game last night. Chaney did not have much to work with other than Tyler Boyd, who Chaney tried to get the ball to every which way he could. James Conner, the ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2014, had a season ending knee injury in their first game so Chaney was having to deal with that all season. Based on what I’ve seen in the first half, I think Georgia will be able to run the ball against UNC even if Chubb and Sony don’t play. Especially given the fact that UNC’s two senior starting LBs are gone. It wouldn’t surprise me if Chaney runs the ball a lot in the UNC game. Also don’t know how UNC covers UGA’s TEs or slot receivers. I also think UNC will have problems with UGA’s pass rush. Pitt’s DL had success in the first half pushing the pocket, and UNC will be without their stud RG as well as the starter who just got injured.

Greg Poole  I get it, but Roquan is one that is going to stay put on defense, for sure.

  9. BahitsDawg

RumRunnerDoogie BahitsDawg I half expect to see a couple of “Quality Control ‘of’ non-Athletic administration” guys named Guido and Bruno

  10. TtownDawg

dsw61  It looks like he’s telling him…you may be taller than me but, I will still knock you on your a$$.

  12. Joe Dawg

Greg Poole Joe Dawg  We have lots of possibilities for sure. Sometimes I try to imagine what some players could do at another position.

  13. BahitsDawg

AlphaDawg I will save you the time.  Kirby will come on and guarantee us the National Championship and a number one class.   ####

  14. BahitsDawg

Bansai buckeroo Dude is a rock.  He is going to bust it up this season.  Our Dawgs are being mistakenly overlooked.

  15. Greg Poole

dawgmum  I think you will get that opportunity. Don’t see him taking a redshirt this year.

    Shavoyae Brown (another RB)
    Shattle Fenteng
    MarSHAll Long
    David MarSHAll
    Shaun McGee
    RaSHAd Roundtree
    Shakenneth Williams
    Shaquery Wilson

    ok, 8

  17. dawgmum

Greg Poole Joe Dawg I’d like to see Brian Herrien run it. He seems like he can do anything he sets his mind to, and I think he could make some plays.

  18. Greg Poole

Joe Dawg  Nick and Sony will play and Holyfield will be ready. Don’t forget Brian Herrien, Tae Crowder and Brendan Douglas.

  19. Joe Dawg

Roquan should be able to carry the ball 10 – 12 times a game until Nick and Sony are completely ready. Didn’t he rush for over 300 yards in one game?

  20. Jesse1

Greg Poole BenKellam Remember John Ray at West Virginia? Went 6’10” 330. At one time he’d been near the 400 mark, but Nehlon got after him between his junior and senior year, he paid the price, and  arrived in Morganton a svelte 340 lbs. Four year starter but had he kept to his ways, he never would have been the dominant player he became.
