Greg is closing in on 15 years writing about and photographing UGA sports. While often wrong and/or out of focus, it has been a long, strange trip full of fun and new friends.

Greg Poole TeeHDawg Ditto, If a player starts as a true freshman on the OL, your OL depth chart isn’t where you want it to be.  Maybe 1 in 1000 OL are ready to start in the SEC day one regardless of stars.

AlphaDawg dsw61 I think the 8 3* commit day was hilarious. I know some Tennessee fans who weren’t very impressed with that haul.

  3. AlphaDawg

Oh and just to wrap up all the UT talk. I just did the check. UGA has only offered 2 of their 17 commits.

  4. Greg Poole

TeeHDawg   One has to assume that Kirby is very familiar with Leatherwood and would not be shy about offering if there was any chance.
I never assume that a OL will contribute as a frosh regardless of star ranking – unless the current OL sucks, that is.

  5. TeeHDawg

I think he would be a plan C offer. He is a very good player and will be a good S or RB wherever he goes.

  6. TeeHDawg

Thanks. These two guys are day 1 contributers. Both are potential candidates to be the top OT this cycle. I saw where Smith was offered but I’m shocked by Leatherwood not being offered.
Leatherwood would more than likely RS at Bama or at least contribute very little as a true freshmen. And Smith has a chance to start with him being an early enrollee. If I’m either recruit, I would want to play for someone like Pittman and beat down UGA’S door to come play.

Greg Poole AlphaDawg dsw61 Yes sir, it’s a long term investment. You’re 40/60 model of stocks and bonds

  8. Greg Poole

AlphaDawg dsw61  People get too riled up about the day-to-day of recruiting. It is like the stock market. The payoff is in the long term.

  9. Greg Poole

DawgLink  His relationship with UGA is hard to read and apparently has been off/on for both sides.

dsw61 a lot of tennessee talk over the weekend. Some of these Georgia faithful on twitter get too rilled up about UT waiting to have 8 people commit at once. They still don’t understand the mentality of Booch. He’s all show. So what UT stole the spotlight for a few hours? We’ve got 6 less recruits than them and we’re still two spots ahead.

  11. DawgLink

After reading the article about Jaymest, do you think the “seeing the light” is about committing to the G?

  12. Greg Poole

TeeHDawg   UGA has not offered Leatherwood. My guess is that Kirby would have done so months ago if he thought there was a shot at him. Trey Smith has been offered but UGA does not appear to be a serious contender for him.

  13. dsw61

Even though Eason played against the #2 defense in the Spring game; the first Ridley pass, the first Mckenzie pass, and the Reggie Davis pass; were still very impressive.

  14. TeeHDawg

Morning guys. Quick question about our OT recruiting. Granted we are currently zeroing in on Thomas, Gray, Wilson, and Eze, what about the other T from Tennessee, Trey Smith and current Alabama commit Alex Leatherwood? Do we possibly make a run at these two also?

  15. dsw61

Hope Kirby has his antenna up for shenanigans surrounding Gibbs’ recruitment. Some Tennessee faithful seem to think Georgia has “No Chance”. Definitive statements like often times are a red flag.

ZippyMorocco deltonadawg DawgDaddy We are waiting on my daughter to update us on how he is doing. Will be going to see him this morning if he gets operated on. If the appendix response to the medication he will not have to have the operation so we are hoping he will not have to be operated on.

  17. deltonadawg

DawgDaddy deltonadawg Good morning DD. Well my grandson was admitted in the hospital with an inflamed Appendix. We will find out this morning if he has to be operated on.

  18. DawgDaddy

    Good Morning to Dawgs Everywhere!
