    Lucas Rogers MMCSDAWG  I agree. If he gets an offer, he’ll flip. He is just, wisely, securing a ship while his recruiting plays out.

    WalktheDawg Whisky The only problem with the argument is the assumption that UGA has “a position room full of 280# guys”. 
    I agree that Pittman is going to recruit bigger kids but big and SEC ready are not the same thing. However, you should not discount his belief in technique. I’ve spent a good bit of time watching his group in practice and watching him teach at camps – technique is priority one with him.
    Who are the likely players to see first quarter action against UNC?
    Catalina – 300 +-
    Kublanow – 285 +-
    Wynn – 285 +-
    Pyke – 315 +-
    Simms – 300 +-
    Gailliard – 300+-
    Allen – 300 +-
    Baker – 315 +-

    I really hope that Madden can contribute minutes but I had much rather have Cleveland around as a RS senior than playing now.

    A good, well trained bigger guy will usually beat a smaller guy with the same talent and training, no doubt – but when thinking about OL ask yourself if your 22-year-old self could kick the crap out of your 18-year-old self. The physical maturity aspect is huge.

    Greg Poole PatriotVeteran But why would anyone ever want to weigh all their options and make an informed, well thought out decision? Don’t get me wrong, I love it when a guy commits on the spot, but when you’re going after top notch guys, they have basically limitless options. If you offer a guy, he takes his time to decide that Georgia is best for him, what more could you want? He picked us over every other top flight school that gave him an offer.

    AlphaDawg BenKellam Dawgnation89 That was probably a top 1 or 2 best episodes of the series I think. The guy who directed this past episode also did Hardhome. They should just let him take over the directing 100% from here on out.

    PatriotVeteran  I don’t know why the coaching staff never thought of that. It would solve all of this recruiting drama. Only offer kids who will commit immediately and never waiver, WOW.

    WalktheDawg Whisky Lucas Rogers It’s not really a revenue generator. It’s just like any camp, it cost money to go to. But definitely a recruiting tool.

    Lucas Rogers We could lose to any other SEC team, but UT, I need us to win…. It’s required.  I would take a loss to vandy over UT

    Greg Poole They all say “It would mean a lots to get a UGA Offer” and once they get it, they start showboating and won’t commit anyhow, unless they get special attention.    Offer someone who “WANTS TO PLAY FOR UGA – NOT – just get an offer for their resume”.

    Lucas Rogers Is this a revenue generator or a recruiting tool… Lot of 9th graders not living the good life can’t buy the ticket…and most JUCO kids have trouble scraping together Beer money.

    Greg Poole WalktheDawg Whisky If you have a position room full of 280# guys… and you recruit 320#ers to fit a new philosophy.. Your 280 guys will need to take the bus out of town if they want to see playing time.. You can’t make a technique guy into a grader at that point in his career…. Thus young guys get pushed onto the field. We are about to see this in Athens.

    AlphaDawg Plus, how many of these kids will not make it academically and character wise?  It seems like UT has a history of taking a lot of kids that we passed on because of character and grades issues.    Several of their past classes had a really high drop out or non-admission rate.  How will this one be any different?

    Greg Poole speaking of pain, be aware that a lot of people get hooked on pain killers in their teens via sports injuries.

    Please be careful with the pain meds and your kids injuries.
